Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Hi

I will be on my honeymoon on Dec, Below are the details

SYD - HNL (M) AA7359 - 11 Dec 10.25 Pm - 11 Dec 11.05 AM
HNL - DFW (M) AA0008 - 13 Dec 06.40 PM - 14 DEC 06.03 AM
DFW - MCO (M) AA1009 - 14 DEC 08.40 AM - 14 DEC 12.10 PM
MCO - LAX (L) AA0178 - 19 DEC 06.15 PM - 19 DEC 08.56 PM
LAX - SYD (L) AA7364 - 1 JAN 10.30 PM - 3 DEC 08.30 AM

I just wondering, is it possible to request upgrade on the gate? is there any seats available?

Im will flying with AAdvantage frequent fyler? thinking to buy Admiral club for 30 days is it worth it ?

Please do advise is there anything i can do?

Hi
LAX - SYD (L) AA7364 - 1 JAN 10.30 PM - 3 DEC 08.30 AM
That's surely the longest flight in the world now :-) But seriously the 30 day Admirals Club will be worth it IMHO, unless the AA member has got AA Platinum or higher (OWE). You can always ask at the gates, but I don't remember that being very successful.

Expert flyer will not show status. Once within approx 12 hours of flight, EF won't show flight availability as it moves to 'airport control'

i do not have any status

i just wondering how do i check in expert flyer??

An Expert Flyer subscription allows you to enter your FF status, and will return the seat availability based on that status. So if say you are QFF bronze, then it will only show open seats at the back of the plane, but if you are QFF Gold or higher you will see seats at the front of Y. And then for domestic flights, at T-80 you will generally see the seat map open up with seats further forward for a short period.

I am still only QFF Silver for a few days, but yesterday I moved from 45D to 35B at T-80, by keeping watch through Expert Flyer when earlier I could not see any seats further forward than about row 42.

Of course none of this has anything to do with Lounge Access.

Exactly what do you want to check in expert flyer?
What information for which of your flights?

Is 4 hours sufficient a visit from T4 to TBITs QF F lounge? This will be between 3:30pm and 7:30pm.

So if I read the rules correctly, my OWS will not get me into BNE domestic QC if I am in Y?? Correct??

If you are OW Sapphire, the equivalent of QF Gold, then you will have lounge access as per:

32. Sapphire members can access Qantas International Business lounges and domestic Qantas Club lounges. Other lounge access conditions apply. See Qantas Club Terms and Conditions for complete lounge access information. (https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/flying/tier-benefits#oneworld)

I don't believe class of ticket has anything to do with it.

OWS will not get you in to any Australian domestic business class lounges, but will get you access to the qantas club.

Business lounges are restricted to business class passengers and OWE.

however there is this:

  • Emerald tier frequent flyers can use First Class, Business Class or frequent flyer lounges.
  • Sapphire tier frequent flyers are welcome in Business Class* or frequent flyer lounges. (*does not include Qantas Domestic Business Lounges)
  • Emerald and Sapphire members may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier.
  • You must be prepared to show your boarding pass and frequent flyer membership card, with oneworld Emerald or Sapphire tier status, to access a lounge.

But I will get into QC?

see my post immediately above.

The qantas domestic business class lounge is a separate lounge offering to the qantas club. You don't have access to the former, but you do the latter.

I rarely travel domestic..Usually international in J on MH so always get into the lounge. Let's see how we go.....

Thanks for your feedback.. Much appreciated!!

As per OATEK and MEL_Traveller you will definitely get access to the regular Qantas Club on a domestic flight.

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Is it safe to assume the complimentary Qantas Club passes can be used at the Qantas Business lounge at LAX? These are the passes that came with the ANZ Black and says "not valid in Qantas Business Lounges, oneworld alliance lounges, partner airline and associated lounges . . ."

The LAX lounge is Qantas branded, yeah, so it should be fine?

That's a no. It's a Oneworld lounge and passes are not accepted.

if you mean this one:

[h=1]Los Angeles Tom Bradley - International Business Lounge[/h]http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/lounge-locations/los-angeles/tom-bradley/international-business-lounge/global/en

Note:

'Complimentary invitations cannot be used in the Los Angeles oneworld lounge.'

Bugger. I thought because it was called International Business Lounge it would be all good.

if you mean this one:

Los Angeles Tom Bradley - International Business Lounge

Lounge Locations | North America | Los Angeles International Airport Tom Bradley Terminal | International Business

Note:

'Complimentary invitations cannot be used in the Los Angeles oneworld lounge.'

Good to know it's in the fine print at least although I note it says "Los Angeles oneworld lounge" yet Qantas itself calls it the "Los Angeles International Business Lounge", even on that very page. How hard is it to keep the nomenclature the same?

Re: Advice re DFW lounge

Flying from DFW on Tuesday night. Qantas WP, flying in F with my husband. Best Lounge suggestions welcome. I have 3 Amex platinum credit cards - points chasing! ..........but from my reading these need to be charge cards to gain access to the centorian lounge. Thanks in advance.
