Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Good evening - does anyone know if you can access the QF First Lounge in Sydney when booked on Fiji Airways under the FJ code as a QF WP?

Here's a more complex question, when booked on FJ business (which would entitle you to QF J lounge access at the very least) will FJ business BP with a QF WP card get you into First Lounge or relegated to the J lounge only?

Your WP card gets your Business lounge access (First if on a QF code only).

Your FJ Business class ticket gets you Business lounge access.

Not a lot you can do. There's essentially a tax on the QF coded flights, pay the tiny bit more and you get the better lounge ;)

Actually, looking at a random date (07 Mar 2017). Booking FJ whY one way SYD-NAN is $1 more than same flight with QF flight # ($250 v $249). If you have QF 1st or J lounge access, there really shouldn't be a question about booking QF flights (also better SCs). If, for some reason, there is a price difference, you could book oneway flights over and separate back. QF over for 1st Lounge access and FJ back still should give you Tabua Lounge access.

Where it gets more bizarre is LAX. Last year, WP flying on QF flight# (FJ operated) - no 1st lounge access even though it is a QF operated lounge. Managed to talk our way in as a "once off"...

I got refused access at all to the HNL QP as a WP in J on the QF code on FJ a few years ago. It's just one of those agreements that constantly causes problems.

Presumably there was at least a J lounge option provided by FJ for Business Class? In LAX, I think it is Korean?

Certainly a challenge for QP and above if ticketed down the back....

Nope. At the time (not sure if it's changed) FJ weren't offering lounge access at HNL at all. Qantas eventually sent me a "so sorry, you should have been let in, we've certainly passed the feedback onto our HNL manager" however it didn't mean much after the event.

Even more difficult...I am flying economy on an FJ code from SYD to NAN followed by business from NAN to LAX. Any chance I can access lounge or are they going to hit me with the 'next onward flight has to business' line. Status SG.

I suspect that you won't be allowed into the lounge in Sydney as you're booked on the FJ code. The later flight in business class would be irrelevant, I would think. But it doesn't hurt to ask on the day!

Pretty sure the answer is no but is there any Lounge access in Glasgow Airport to OW Sapphire, travelling economy, on Emirates with QF ticket?

Darwin to Dili with Airnorth TL518 on a QF redemption ticket from Sydney (Sydney to Darwin J) & 15 hr stopover Darwin & QP member will we get into the QF International lounge?

As it's all booked on the one ticket and there's no J available on the TL sector then I think access could be granted to the J lounge in DRW. Not guaranteed as it's not in the published rules.
If granted though you cannot stay there for 15 hours as the lounge there has restricted opening hours based around flight departures. I would personally head off to Mindl or get a day room at the airport resort.

Is it common for the Melb Qantas domestic lounge closing at 9pm on a Monday?
It's based on the last scheduled flight which last night was the 9pm QF494 to SYD (which departed 9:05pm).

There was a delayed flight being QF701 to ADL which departed 9:06pm (scheduled 8:30pm).

Normally the lounge closes when boarding is called for the last flight to depart.

Well the last flights were delayed later than that and I'm sure there were Jetstar flights too?
