Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Re: LAX lounge access for QF platinum & first PAX

Is there a diagram that might assist with understanding this question?

Let me try again
SYD QF J lounge: I go to the door with 2 colleagues (Mr A & Mr B) i ask that as a WP can i have these 2 enter the lounge. I dont want to go in i just want to use my access to let Mr A & Mr B in.
SYD QF F lounge: As normal I go in with my guest (Mr C).

If i am in J would that make the above earlier? ie a J pax doesnt need status to get in with a guest.

Is this the post you were referring to as you don't actually say?

Not sure of the strict legalities but I have tried that specific scenario and the answer was no to the J lounge guests.

Re: PEK lounge access for QF platinum

Reposting with more informative title

-----------------------------------------------

I am at PEK now, waiting for QF108 to Sydney.

i went to the EK lounge (which is right opposite the QF108 gate) and was told that QF passengers do not have access to the EK lounge in PEK. I showed her a print out from the "Platinum Benefits" page on the QF web site, which clearly states that QF WP members have access to all EK lounges when flying EK or QF.

Now in the CX lounge, which is about as far away from the QF gate as it is possible to be

QF needs to clarify this. Either the web site needs to say "except Beijing" or QF needs to pressure EK to educate their PEK personnel.

Michael

It seems pretty clear that it's the CX Lounge in PEK

Airport Guide - Beijing Capital International Airport

Sorry where else does it say that QF WP passengers have access to all EK lounges when flying EK or QF?
I suggest it says QF WP passengers with their QF FF number in the EK boarding pass (therefore EK ticket) can access EK lounge.

The excerpt below sets the context:

Re: PEK lounge access for QF platinum

Yes the CX lounge in PEK is a tad limited with regard to food. Generally you can mange to get some decent buns and dumplings etc and one 'wet food' offering. Decent wifi and comfy chairs. But certainly not 5 or even 4 star stuff.

Re: PEK lounge access for QF platinum

Thanks for the post as I'll be on QF108 in July. My circumstances are slightly different (LTG in J) but at least I have time to chase this before the trip.

I'll try and post back where I get to with it.

Maybe I'll use my priority pass and use 'another' lounge.

Query.

Two WP. Travelling Qantas in J - Mel - DXB. Easy.

In DXB - on same PNR as above. Flying Y on Qatar airlines to Doha (four hour transit) then in Doha on same PNR, in J, Qatar airlines Doha to Stockholm.

Does the Y booking sandwiched amongst the 'same day same PNR' mess the lounge access in DXB? I think we can access Qatar J lounge in Doha where a shower will definitely be required. I was hoping to grab one in DXB though.

(Being Qatar I do not dare change anything as it's ticketed ok. And was a nice award booking.)

You will certainly get into the J lounge in Doha...which is a brilliant lounge. Sometimes a queue for showers so go there straight away in case you have to wait.......

Can you say the name of the lounge so I can note it down? Thanks :p

Re: I'm in the VA Lounge thread

Sorry if this isn't the right thread to ask;

Wife and I both Silver velocity.

Next week we fly Etihad (Virgin code share) from Melbourne to Rome (via Abu Dhabi).

We were looking forward to using our silver lounge passes pre-departure, but have learned there is no international Virgin lounge in Melbourne.

Can we use our silver pass to get into the Etihad lounge that states 'eligible members of Etihad airways partners and partner airline loyalty programs will also be able to use"?

In a word, no. The passes are only good for VA domestic lounges.

Re: I'm in the VA Lounge thread

I may have shot myself in foot. Flying with QF to HKG and then EK to BKK on an EK flight number.

In HKG think I'm entitled to use the Qantas lounge and I should also be able to use the Emirates lounge? Wife and daughter are also on HKG-BKK flight on a QF award with EK flight number. I should be able to guest them into either lounge?

I should know the answer to this, but am used to flying J internationally on Star Alliance I have forgotten the rules . I am Silver but have paid QC membership. Going from Singapore to coughet next week, Jetstar flight no. I know I get access to QC in Singapore but can I guest mum in who is on the same flight? And before someone asks, I won't leave her outside - I do have a QC pass for her just in case!!!
