Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Re: Can I go to the JAL business lounge in NRT with a Cathay business class ticket?

Yes they are in the main terminal. JAL is at the south end immediately after the south passport entrance, the J lounge is on the right side after going through the main doors, there is also a over flow lounge up the escalator on level 4, but I think it is only open at certain times. CX is in the middle of the main terminal you need to catch the lift to level 4. The AA lounge in at the north end of the terminal, you go down the escalator to level 2. The QF lounge is in the satellite terminal there is also another JAL in the satellite terminal. All lounges are easy to find.

Excellent - thanks - wish we could save these helpful posts somewhere in a lounges forum? Huge help! :-)

Re: Can I go to the JAL business lounge in NRT with a Cathay business class ticket?

So looks like I have to stay with CX lounge in Narita? Could someone please enlighten me? Thanks!

Angus

As others have said - no problem accessing all OW lounges at NRT.

JL's website is specific to its operations. OW rules generally apply alongside airline specific rules. Not all airlines are good at explaining the OW entitlements in addition to their own (QF is good for example, but JL not so good :))

Re: Can I go to the JAL business lounge in NRT with a Cathay business class ticket?

(previously posted in Emirates Skywards thread, but this looks like a better place.)

Flying EK F SYD-DXB-IKA and EK J IKA-DXB-SIN-MEL soonish. I'm not a member of Skywards at any level. I've put up my lounge times on the April and May threads, but now I'm not sure if I can guest people in. There seems to be conflicting information floating around. Anybody know the rules?

My apologies in advance as this is probably a question which has been asked and answered a number of times

Flying to CAN on a QF flight number on China Southern - CZ metal. Can I guest a colleague into the QF F lounge if they are on a CZ ticket? The Qantas web site says I can guest if they are on the same flight without "flight" seemingly restricted to flight number.

Does anyone have experience of this? Trying to avoid any embarrassment of them being turned away as my guest.

Thanks in advance

Thai First Class Lounge - Bangkok

I am looking at booking a First Class ticket Tokyo to Sydney with United points. The only route I can find is via Bangkok with Thai. The stopover in Bangkok is quite long so my question is; what are the opening hours of the 1st class lounge and if it is closed at night what arrangements are made for those with overnight stopovers?

I think it's open from 5am - 1am.

The Royal Silk Lounges (also for First Class pax) are 5am - 2am

The airport hotel is within walking distance or a very short shuttle ride and not too expensive. You'll love the first class lounge

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Hi All,

I'm flying BA out of AMS in a few weeks in J and as a QFF SG. I'll have been on a bucks do and will likely be in need of a "hair of the dog". I can see BA has a lounge but it doesn't look like they have a bar. Is anyone able to confirm this? Are there any other suitable lounges I could access with a +1 (not flying J) if no bar is available?

Many Thanks!

The hair will be yours!

I was there in November and a limited self service selection of dog hairs is available.

Note that it's a good 5+ minutes brisk walk from the gates BA normally employ .

Re: Can I go to the JAL business lounge in NRT with a Cathay business class ticket?

Thanks to all - there was no problem accessing the JAL lounge, and it had better food than the Cathay one - I had a western breakfast and then tried the signature JAL beef curry as recommneded and both good.

FWIW, I had plenty of time as the shuttle from the airport got there way to early, or to late, so I went to Cathay & JAL lounges in the main terminal and then JAL and Qantas lounges in the satellite terminal - all good. Not much food in Qantas, but it had just opened, so guess the food comes out when the Qantas flight is due to depart.

FYI, there are some cool massage chairs in the JAL lounge in the satellite part of the terminal - well worth a go if your gate is out that way! :-)

Excellent. Thanks very much. At that stage in the game I'm fairly sure I won't care what's available as long as it's alcoholic and will take the edge off!

VA Gold member - 2nd guest lounge access?

Hi all,

I'm currently planning a trip to Europe for the end of this year (Dec 2017) for my wife, our good friend / regular travel companion and I (3 pax). I'm a VA/VFF Gold member, so I'm keen to fly with a VA partner and make the most of my privileges, including lounge access. A key issue however is that almost all lounges restrict access to the Gold member plus one guest. The last thing I want to do is go into the lounge and leave our friend sitting, cold and friendless, out in the terminal!

Is anyone aware of a VA partner that offers paid access for an additional / second guest to its lounges in Australia, as well as in transit to Europe (i.e. At hubs in AUH or SIN etc)? We will be flying ex-MEL, so a Melbourne lounge would be ideal. In terms of arrival/departure cities in Europe, we are pretty flexible, with our primary destinations being Scotland and Scandinavia.

From my research so far, the only clear paid-entry option I have found is the Al Reem lounge in Abu Dhabi. I can't seem to find any paid entry options in Australia!

Grateful for your learned wisdom and advice!

Re: VA Gold member - 2nd guest lounge access?

Perhaps pay 40,000 points for one of your party to become a member in their own right? Dunno what access to OS lounges is like for such a member though.

Re: VA Gold member - 2nd guest lounge access?

Hi Happy Dude,

A good thought RE: buying an additional membership. Unfortunately paid memberships only get you Trans Tasman lounge access - nothing on long haul to Europe.

Qantas lounge access when connecting from QF flight to OneWorld

With a 'Qantas Club Complementary Invitation', can I get access to the Qantas lounge in ADL when flying SYD-ADL with Qantas and then ADL-DOH with Qatar?
I know that 'on arrival' access is typically not granted but this would be more 'in-transit' access - I read somewhere that as long as you can present a QF boarding pass from the same day, they will let you in?

Re: Qantas lounge access when connecting from QF flight to OneWorld

The normal conditions on the free passes is that your next onward flight must be Qantas or Jetstar. So you would be able to use it in SYD but not in ADL.

Re: Qantas lounge access when connecting from QF flight to OneWorld

Oneworld lounge rules don't apply here. The conditions on the back of the pass are clear as to what your next onward flight needs to be to gain access. 01489031500.jpg
