Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Hi All

I am in Singapore and flying out of T2 on a Malaysian (One World) ticket to KL. Then from KL to Kuta Kinabalu this afternoon.

I am a Gold Quantas FF so One World Sapphire.
Can I use the Malaysian lounge in Singapore and KL (Although only there for 1 hr so doubt I will get chance to use the KL one)
Singapore is operated by SATS according to the Changi web site.

Any info appreciated.

Yes, you can use the lounges in SIN and KUL.

Hi Everyone,

I've got a pretty basic question regarding lounges (only flown J once before) - I'm currently in the dnata lounge at Singapore flying Cathay J to HKG in a few hours, but I'd like to move to the QF lounge when it opens soon. Am I allowed more than one entry into a lounge? I would have thought so, but I was given an access invitation at Check-in which they took from me when I came in, so just wanted to make sure before I accidentally lock myself out of either one :)

Thanks!

I think the answer is yes:

Indulge yourself before departure in a wider range of airport lounges when you fly First Class or Business Class with any oneworld member airline.

  • Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. First Class passengers may use a Business Class or frequent flyer lounge if a First Class lounge is not available.

So a boarding pass on oneworld J is enough - I don't need that invitation pass?

In this situation, yes. Some airlines provide invitations when the lounge they direct passengers to is operated by a third party.

Learn something everyday... sorry to the OP for misinformation:oops:

Okay, glad to make sure, thanks everyone for the advice!

If not or even otherwise, I'll be at SIN by 3:30 or earlier (if my MH flight from KUL ever leaves) - I can meet you there.

[What time is your CX flight?]

4:30pm - I'll be heading over in around 20 mins, so if you're there before 4 I'll probably still be around!

Can I go to the JAL business lounge in NRT with a Cathay business class ticket?

Hi,

Sorry for such a newbie question, but I thought that if you had a business class one world ticket, you could visit any one world lounge at the airport.

I will be departing from Narita on Cathay flight, but google tells me that the JAL lounge has better food, so I was wondering if I could go there instead of the Cathay loungue, or, failing that, go to the Qantas lounge.

But when I look up the JAL lounge it says:

  • Passengers must be traveling under Japan Airlines' flight number.
  • First class or Business class passengers on Japan Airlines' flight operated by partner carrier are invited to the lounge offered by the Operating carrier. Lounge access may not be available on Premium Economy Class depending on the Operating carrier's service policy. No lounge service for Economy class passengers on codeshare flights operated by partner carrier.

So looks like I have to stay with CX lounge in Narita? Could someone please enlighten me? Thanks!

Angus

Under OW rules you should be allowed in but in general the OW rules are being interpreted fairly loosely these days. Won't hurt to try though.

If you do not have any luck at JAL try for the AA lounge it is nicer than CX or QF options.
