Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

In my experience (as recently as December) with Qantas Club you can access any Admirals Club before a flight on AA. It definitely did not need to be booked as a QF codeshare or part of a QF ticket.

Agreed, there are some published access rules on Qantas.com in the past that seem to have little relation to reality. AA flight number will get QP member access to A/C's going by numerous anecdotes.

Question about SIN T3 lounge access.

I'm travelling on a OW J Award with an 0830 departure meaning QF & BA will both be closed. Dnata looks uninspiring.

It's a QF ticket with an 081- ticket number, on JL metal for 3 pax in J. I'm WP travelling with two PS.

I've had a good look on EK site and can't find the answer - but can I access the EK lounge?

A data point for Skywards Gold members departing BKK on QF24 while crediting miles to QF (only a Silver member). I was welcomed in to the lounge and did not need to credit the miles to Skywards. Easy peasy. I just wish the lounge dragons in SYD did the same on the reverse (but I also understand their reasons not to).

Short answer - no ...

Long answer: As a Qantas status member, to access an EK lounge you need to be departing on a QF or EK marketed and QF or EK operated flight. A Business (or First) class passenger on non QF *O marketed and operated flight generally have no EK lounge access either.

You were lucky. Lounge access could have been rightly denied.

My understanding is no.
I think you will be limited to the Dnata lounge in T1

Okay, whilst I think I know (or have researched) the answers, always best to check lest Mrs QF WP tell me that I'm not as good as I think I am (if I am wrong, in particular)....that would be a real downer :D

On 28 June, flying DL6795 (codeshared VA7) BNE/LAX. Understand that with VA and NZ split can't access the NZ Lounge any more (apart from flights to NZ), I can access the SQ Lounge at BNE International.

Then on 5 July, flying DL129 LAX/SEA (from T3). I've been told by an aviation journalist well versed in the Lounges at LAX, that Sky Club in LAX T3 is a complete basket case in the old Virgin America Loft space, whereas T2 (opposite the VS Clubhouse) is much bigger, and there's an airside bus between T2 and T3 if I have time to use the 'better' lounge but are departing from T3.

Then on 18 July, got a handful of back-to-back flights. Firstly, DL5687 GEG (Spokane) / SEA. Understand there are no DL Lounges in Spokane (been there half a dozen times), so we won't be getting there too early (other than to make sure the CSA has time to process the 3 flights - including International departure - for 4 pax) .

I understand I arrive SEA (Main Terminal) hopefully around 12:33pm and also depart from there on DL2722 (SEA/LAX) at 14:15pm. Looks like there are 2 that we could use, depending on where we depart.

Finally, we are back at LAX. Ah yes, the airport I love to hate. Believe we arrive at Terminal 2 and leave from TBIT on DL6794 (VA8) so have access to the EK Business Lounge there, according to this article: Emirates business class, first class lounge: Los Angeles LAX

Of course, with all Lounge access, being I'm with Mrs QF WP and 2 kids, I understand that I may be denied if busy or at their whim.

Also, I know to pack my actual Velocity card as they often ask for it, even if number is attached to the booking. Also at the Sky Club, if they approach me in line to scan me in, I know to tell them I need to go to the desk - as I understand they can't process Velocity admissions via their little handheld thing, as the desk has to type in all the details to get a green light.

I just got back from a week in the USA flying on 12 DL flights variously departing from LAX, SEA, MSP, PDX & DFW.

Your understandings are basically correct.

Firstly, in all cases, the following can apply: "1 child (counted as your Velocity membership entitlement of 1 guest)"; you will be completely at the whim of the lounge agents permitting lounge access.

https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/experience/at-the-airport/international-lounge-access/

Yes, they try to pre scan with the small device at skyclubs - you are best brandishing your VA card and nicely advising them that your details needs to be typed.

BNE it is the SQ Kris Flyer Lounge

LAX; T2 SkyClub is much much roomier than the one in T3; also fully self service.

SEA; The concourse A lounge is newer and some what nicer then the S lounge (although the latter is no more than three years old). With the S lounge (and even B gates) you get to play underground trains.

LAX (TBIT); the EK lounge is the best of the ones you'd visit.

I'm flying into LAX in Qantas First, connecting 6hrs later to an AA flight to JFK in business.

Will I have access to the Qantas First lounge in TBIT?

Thanks in advance. (I know it's a basic question, probably answered previously on here.)

Hello everyone. Mrs Welsh-Kiwi is QF SG. We have a Y flight to Fiji traveling from Auckland. Flight booked with a QF flight number but on Fiji Airways metal. Will we have lounge access in Auckland and in Fiji on the way back? We’ll also have Miss Welsh-Kiwi (9yrs) with us as well. Thanks. W-K

See here: Lounge Locations | New Zealand | Auckland International Airport | International Business

and here: Lounge Locations | Fiji | Nadi International Airport | Associated Lounges

Having children in tow always adds to the YMMV situation.

Hi,

If flying BA F into HKG, then CX J to SIN, would I have access to the Wing/Pier First Lounge in HKG during the stopover?

I've searched online, but can't find the answer.

Thanks

Yes you can, based on the class of travel of your long haul flight.

From oneworld.com:

  • [*]First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
[*]Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
