Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

MIA>BOG is less than 5 hours.

Reading up on the AA site I'm still confused somewhat. See attached screenshot, I have highlighted bit of interest in yellow. Im not sure if they would see me as going from JFK to MIA or going JFK to BOG (but with a stop in MIA). All on the same ticket (Oneworld classic award), but the flight segments were seperate.

It also says "non revenue passangers aren't eligible" Does that mean as this was booked with QF points that's me?
You will get Lounge access to the Admirals Club in MIA as AA is currently giving access to all Int J flights pretty much.

I don’t think you will have any access in JFK. But I hope I am wrong.

Another one I need clarification on please....

Flying PER > KUL on MH in business class. I then am catching a revenue fare on Malindo air to HKT. I was thinking of purchasing a seperate cheap economy MH flight from KUL to somewhere within Malaysia in the hopes that would then allow me to use the loumnge at KUL as I am incoming on a long haul business class flight, and flying out on a short haul domestic flight.

Or would both flights have to be on the one ticket/PNR in order for me to have lounge access? Or could I show them my BP from the international flight I just came in on and the BP for the outgoing MH domestic economy flight?

I would plan to just be a no show for that MH flight from KUL. Or when I go to get my Malindo flight maybe tell them at the lounge I will be a no show? Any ramifications on doing that? The MH flight will be a seperate PNR of course.

Are there any per for entry lounges at KUL? That might be a better option?

There is the Plaza premium lounge but it would cost more to buy entry to that to to buy e cheapest MH economy fare. Plus the MH Golden Lounge looks a lot lot better than the Plaza Premium Lounge.

Just doing some more research into this and found many reports of people being able to use the MH Golden international (satellite) lounge based on their arrival ticket.

Anyone have experience with this. If that is true then I could land from Perth on MH business class, get my bags and clear immigration, check in to my Malindo flight then go to the lounge and be accepted based on the arrival ticket?

From OneWorld Site, needs to be a transit between OneWorld airlines:

Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
  • First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).

Unless something has changed post the COVID shutdowns, I'm quite certain you'll have arrivals access to the MH Golden lounges in KLIA if holding an MH International J boarding pass from arrival. It was also open to OWS & OWE pax for international arrivals as well. See link here: FAQ

If not, you can also buy a pass to the MH Golden Lounges from A$44 (Domestic), with info here: Golden Lounge Access

Cheers,
Matt.

We are flying to NAN (Fiji) in a week. Our flight from MEL is booked on QF paper. As we are both lifetime GOLD members with Qantas we usually gain admittance to the QF Business Lounge before a 23.30 departure. Is the lounge open then? If not, are other options available?

The QF int J lounge currently closes around 9pm, when QF93 departs for Los Angeles. I'm not sure if FJ has alternative arrangements for business and elite status passengers though.

In terms of pay per use lounges:
  • Plaza Premium won't be open
  • The House is open Wednesdays and Sundays until midnight but close early on other days
  • The Marhaba Lounge should be open

Thank you so much, I am travelling on DL (VA codeshare, booked with FF points several months ago), from LAX to SYD this week. VA Velocity Platinum.
Asking you illustrious bunch to confirm what I already suspect: that I am in a 'no person's land' for lounge access at LAX pre-departure.
Thought I would ask the brainstrust that are you all. Much appreciated!

Does anyone know where J pax go in MEL for a CX late night departure?
My inference is they will give us access to The House given it stays open til 00:00 whereas QF J lounge will be closed as you say from the time QF93 is away

Yes that's right, CX has a destination guide for MEL on its website and lists The House as one of the designated lounges, and opening hours are stated to be "3 hours prior to scheduled CX departure time". The website only mentions silver MPC members being eligible, but I think that just refers to the fact that the preferred lounge for higher tier and J passengers is the QF lounge.

Is there any lounge available at NOU when flying Air NZ as a Star Alliance Gold member?
Not according to *A website (which I’m sure you looked at before asking). If you can get in, the Aircalin Salon Hibiscus lounge was pleasant. It might be the only lounge but available to QFF.

I couldn't see anything on the Star Alliance website, which is why I asked here ;)

The Air NZ website just refers you to the Star Alliance website.

I would like to try the Hibiscus lounge but if no access is given to customers on Air NZ then obviously I wouldn't be able to get in.

Thanks! I would be arriving then clear immigration and customs, collect bag and then check in for my non oneworld flight. I would then make way to Golden Satellite lounge. That all may take a bit of time, would the lounge people not allow me in as it had been maybe a couple hours since my business class MH flight arrived?

Outgoing flight from KUL would be on Malindo so I believe same terminal as MH.

Any thoughts on the best lounge at DFW? WP departing a QF flight from terminal D. I have access to OW, Priority Pass and the Amex lounge. I think QF use the AA F lounge. My suspicion is that will be the best option but after opinions.

Does the AA F lounge have a la carte dining for a WP in Y?

AA Flagship lounge is the best for sure. (It is not an F lounge. Flagship, open to SG and WP).

Dining is only for international J/F pax on AA metal, definitely not for Y and not for QF pax as far as I know (I think BA and JL have arrangements). But the food is pretty good, not quite QF Flounge good, but better than a QFi J lounge.

Hmmm... I have only used access on arrival within the international terminal at KLIA. It's actually unlikely the access will extend beyond immigration to the MH Domestic lounge, based on the note in the FAQ I linked. Is is possible for you to travel HLO rather than check bags to KUL? That way you could arrive and enjoy access off the PER-KUL flight in the KLIA lounge/s, and then exit through immigration and transfer with enough time for check-in to the Malindo flight later. You could also theoretically do that with bags checked, but they will go into a holding area after doing a hundred loops on the luggage belt, and it might not be quick to retrieve them later.

Cheers,
Matt
