Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Pretty sure the answer is “no” because the reason you stated.

Flying the reverse Y/Y+ -> J you probably would have lounge access in ICN if the shorter flight was < 3 hrs (or something along those lines).

This thread will elicit a more concise response.

Is there any lounge in Singapore that can be used on arrival? I was reading about the Changi lounge at Jewel but wasn't sure if I could use priority pass on arrival (instead of the more usual departure pre-flight). Has anyone tried?

I'm landing in Singapore in the early morning on an economy flight - star alliance gold but doesn't seem like any of the SQ lounges are open for arrivals for this scenario.

The Jewel probably would work (even paid access) if you’re staying in SIN.

There‘s been a few people ask recently about “Is there Arrivals lounge access in SIN“ and the usual response is “No” but I don’t recall anyone suggesting the Jewel!

Hi everyone,

I have a coming CX flight depart from SYD-HKG travel in Premium Economy cabin and have a connecting flight to ICN travel in Business cabin. I know I can access the lounge in HKG due to the 2nd sector travel class, but will Cathay give lounge access for the 1st sector? I know if I travel Business in the 1st sector, I will get lounge access for the whole trip, but not sure in my case, as the 1st sector is longer than the 2nd one. Thanks.
In theory, ‘yes’ your ticket IS eligible for lounge access in Sydney, but I don’t know how it works in practical terms.

Cathay is one of the few (only?) airline that offers lounge access based on the highest class of service that day, no matter matter where or how long the higher-cabin flight is: https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_AU/destinations/lounges/all-lounges-admittance.html

A passenger flying TPE-HKG in business class followed by economy to Europe gets lounge access based on the TPE-HKG.

What i don’t know is if this only applies to CX operated lounges, or whether that is also extended to OW lounges where cathay has access. If cathay had a lounge in Sydney, you’d be in. Dunno if they give you access to Qantas.

Can’t hurt to ask at checkin, if it’s not already printed on your boarding pass.

That’s appears to be limited to ports with a CX lounge (ie not SYD) but can’t hurt to ask. They might issue “Lounge Invitation” cards? The CX Y+ BP won’t work by itself in SYD unless a passenger has OWS or OWE status.

Yeah. That’s my concern. The page is all about CX lounge admittance. But given their system of printing invitations on boarding passes it might already be system generated. Just bad luck CX has closed its lounges in AU.

Interestingly… on their ‘lounge location’ page they list the QF lounges and The House for Sydney. The link on that page to ‘admittance’ brings up the same connecting flight eligibility. So the OP might be in luck.

Thanks very much for the reply. In the case you mentioned above is definitely "yes" to the lounge access, as TPE-HKG is in business, but for the connecting flight that transits in HKG, the HKG lounge access doesn't seem to be the case but I could be wrong. Btw, I just checked my flight details in Cathay's app, the check-in luggage allowance is 2pc with 23kg each for the whole flight, but instead, the business class should be entitled to 2pc with 32kg each. I guess my trip is recognised as per the longest sector unfortunately.:(

You’ve read the rules wrong. Cathay’s own example says SIN-HKG in business, followed by premium economy to europa gets lounge access at every airport, including hong kong.

This is not to be confused with the oneworld rules which allow lounge access according to the highest class if connecting from long haul premium to short haul or v.v

Does anyone know if any arrivals lounges are available in LHR Terminal 3? I'm arriving on QF9 (in J) and as far as I can make out the Plaza Premium and Regus lounges are closed (and there is no longer access to the AA arrivals lounge). Looking to get a shower before heading into the office.

I don't believe there is anything. I'm in a similar situation and my search results are the same as yours :(

Hello,

One world emerald flyer.
Flying domestic SFO to LAX using Alaskan airlines tomorrow, terminal 2.
What’s the best domestic airport lounge I can use beforehand in SFO?

Cheers.

While there's an AA Admirals Club in T1 one can use if you wish.. it's smallish and while OK, is probably not worth the treak over there. Looking at AS's offering in T2, this looks newly renovated and quite neat. I like the look of the sourdough cart and Barista coffee (yeah, starbucks.. ick.. but still). Looks like AS is a no brainer..

try it out and let us know :)

Assuming when you say you're OWE you're a non AA/AS OWE, ie QF/BA/CX etc... they will give you access, AA/AS status won't on a domestic only flight.

Hi,
Just a query on what potential lounges (if any) I will be able to try and get to on my trip.
I am virgin gold but due to they way my route went and united being too expensive I decided to go with a different option
I have flights marketed by American Airlines but tying my QFF number to them
SYD-HNL QF metal
HNL-LAX AA metal
LAX-SYD QF metal

Being Virgin for so long and just starting to travel again I grabbed the AA marketed flights as the price difference was quite significant.

Anyways, I have some QF passes and only realised yesterday unless it is QF marketed I am basically out of luck. It is a shame as I have a titanium benefit that could have been used in LAX.

So are there any lounges I can still get across? I have priority pass but again they are really lacking in LAX. I am assuming the answer is basically too bad but thought I would check on here if there are any other ways I am missing.

Thanks

Hi All
I've made a booking in economy for 2 using Velocity points with Air Canada from San Diego to Montreal via Toronto. Question is do I get to utilise my newly matched Turkish Airlines Elite (Star Alliance Gold) for lounge and baggage?
I typically only fly OneWorld (QF Platinum) so never had this scenario before with Star Alliance and their partners.
Thanks

Hi all, can anyone confirm if I can use a P1 guest pass at the Qantas first class lounge at LAX? I know it can’t be used in the business lounge there because it is a OneWorld lounge. I tried to get a phone number for the lounge but it would be easier to get Beyonce’s number. I have rung Qantas 6 times now and currently it is 3 yes 3 no. I could link the pass to my flight so that suggests a Yes. It would be nice for absolute certain though.

Yes you can as per the text, any Qantas International First lounge is ok

P1 – Benefit – can be used at any Qantas Club domestic lounge, Qantas Domestic Business Lounge, Qantas International Lounge, Qantas operated International Business Lounge (excluding Los Angeles Tom Bradley International Terminal) and Qantas International First Lounge when departing on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number. View the Platinum One Benefit terms and conditions."

+1 310 348 0750

Just to clarify that should be the lounges number not Beyonce's, assuming they've still kept it active.
