Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Thanks for your replies @equus @RealtimeY @dairyfloss

Just clarify/add my original post,

1 - Qantas - CNS to SYD - economy was paid for by cash
2 - Qantas - SYD to SFO - business was a classic rewards flight. (different booking reference)

and

3 - My question about which counter do I go to in Cairns meant, do I go to the business or economy counter? (at the domestic terminal)

Thanks!

Go to the Business counter.
Bags will be checked through and you should have lounge access in CNS as well as SYD.

Dear my brain-trust,
on 3/9, I will fly with my mum and dad on a QF flight from Singapore to Sydney. As a QF WP, i can take mum to the first lounge. If I wait at the lounge entrant and ask for another person to guess my dad in, would it work? have anyone has some experience about this approach?
They have never been to any airport lounges before.
TIA

Hi all,

Will I have access to the HND lounge?

Flying QF25 SYD - HND in J then connecting to CTS in Y(JAL), on the same QF ticket.

QF25 departs 20:20 and arrives 05:35(+1), and the connecting flight ~3 hours later at 08:20.

Does the "same day of travel" mean the day of departure or day of arrival?

Yes! Lounge access.

I think the exact rule is connecting same day or before 6am the next day. Either way you're fine, but if clearly falls under same day.

Currently on a OWA J, first time as a Platinum and yet on two legs (BA LHR-DUB and AY HEL-JFK) now I've been given boarding passes inviting me to the J Lounge.

For whatever reason these BPs don't have my QFF # or OWE status. Which is odd as they show correctly in QF app and other legs (QF SYD-DFW and AY DUB-HEL) have correctly show QFF# and status.

At Heathrow I went to the T5 First lounge and told agent I was OWE showing my physical card, she immediately added it to my check-in and printed me a new BP.

Just now at Helsinki, agent said no you can only use J Lounge, I asked her nicely if she could please ensure my QFF# was correctly linked to show my OWE (QF platinum) she said no - pointing to text on BP inviting me to J Lounge. I then had to be that person and ask for supervisor, who came out apologised and showed junior colleague how to link but she did not issue me a new BP so I can't easily come and go.

I also didn't see priority luggage tags on my checked bags - now thinking check in agent figured I was a confused tourist incorrectly using the AY Platinum check in counter.

Any clue as to why this would happen? Could it be because I was only Gold when I booked the OWA? Noting I was Platinum well before the trip started.

Need to ensure I verify QFF# is correctly linked when dropping bags on all remaining legs.

Maybe.

Perhaps try removing your FF details and re-adding - but that’s possibly easier said than done….

I think it’s something to do with the different systems, and the updating not happening automatically. Yes, you may show as OWE in QF, but the original status is still in the BA system and that of AY. As SYD says, deleting the number, exiting the booking, then going back in and putting in the number again usually does the trick!,

Hi and asking for a non frequent flyer friend who leaves on Friday. She has a business class ticketed by Lufthansa but flying United. Departing Sydney and stop over in San Fran for 8hrs. Does she have lounge access in Sydney and San Fran and if yes, which ones please?

many thanks!

Yes she has lounge access to either of the Star Alliance lounges at SYD
NZ and SQ.
Whether or not she has lounge access in SFO depends on the destination.

Thank you. Her destination from San Fran is Amsterdam/Schiphol airport.

Would she have lounge access in SF?

Dumb question but can you enter, leave and re-enter lounge more than once?

I'm going to have 10ish hours at LAX, if I enter QF First have lunch, then go for a walk in TBIT, maybe visit other lounges can I return to QF first later on same day?

I would think yes, but in HEL when was trying to get access to First Lounge agent said no because already scanned my BP into J, but then again she was clueless and I needed a supervisor to correctly accept my OWE status.

Plan is to have dinner and a shower back at QF First before boarding at 11pm.

You should be fine.

Friends are soon travelling through PER (T3), CDG (T1) and DXB (likely T3?, 2-3 hours from 11pm-2am) and will have access to one lounge via dragonpass via the cba ultimate awards card. Looks like they'll be eligible for a fair few lounges, any recommendations? I feel like DXB will be the best place to use the pass but have only ever been to EK.

Might be flying CI in Y from HND-TSA with family (possibly traveling in J) - can they bring extra guests on the same flight into the JL Sakura lounge in HND (or whichever lounge contracted there)?

Yes you can access the SYD dom business lounge. Based on longhaul flight being in J. But @serfty will confirm, just to be sure.
