Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

QF WP travelling from London in a couple of weeks. QF flight number on EK metal. Does the QF flight number get me access to OW lounges (eg Cathay F) or would it need to be a OW operated flight? I’m happy enough if limited to QF/EK lounges, just wanted to check options.

No, only QF or EK lounges.

Hi Experts , Can someone please suggest what are the Emirates lounge options at Christchurch airport if flying business from CHC --> MEL. I tried looking up but it is pointing me to an average third party lounge but nothing similar to other Emirates lounges at other airports. Thanks

Sadly there is no Emirates or even Qantas Lounge in Christchurch there is the

Manaia Lounge at Christchurch International Airport

Or the AIR NZ lounge only.

I have been in there and would say it is better than the Qantas F lounge in Auckland, food was good, drinks acceptable and the lounge staff friendly and helpful.

Hello,

Returning from ICN to Sydney in a few weeks in Y. According to the QF website, high tier frequent flyers are eligible to use the KAL partner lounge. It doesn't specify whether Platinum members are entitled to enter the KAL First lounge, or just the business lounge.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

From the info on the KAL and ICN websites, it doesn't appear that there is a KAL First lounge in T1, only in T2.
The KAL page for their lounges in ICN mentions that they don't even allow other Skyteam flights access to the F lounge, so I don't think they'd allow QF pax access to the F lounge.

The oneworld page mentions that MH uses the KAL lounge that matches the lounge info on the QF page (QF isn't yet mentioned on the oneworld ICN lounges page). MH sends their F/Emerald pax to the business lounge.

I would assume that the only lounge at ICN that will allow QF pax is the lounge listed on the QF page near gate 28.

Hi Team, I'm hoping someone may know the answer to this..... If I fly China Airlines Business Class from Bangkok to Taipei and then connect to China Airways Premium Economy Taipei to Brisbane, will I be able to utilise the Business Lounge in Taipei (after I come from Bangkok and before I board my flight to Brisbane)? Thank you

I don't believe you will be able to do this, no.

oneworld has a same day lounge access benefit where you are connecting on the same day to/from a short flight from long haul business, but I can't see anything similar with skyteam (CI's alliance). If you have membership with CI, and have some CI miles, then supposedly you can redeem for VIP lounge access. See here for more on that: VIP Lounge Redemption

Otherwise, there are a couple of Plaza Premium Lounges that you could redeem one of the lounge memberships against, or pay to enter.

Good luck - and welcome to AFF!

Cheers,
Matt.

I've got the official word from China Airlines now:
"Thank you for your enquiry.
We are apologized that you are not entitled to use business lounge in Taipei during your transit time due your booking is with premium economy class from Taipei to Brisbane.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us."

I'm flying J with Sri Lankan airlines out of Sydney. Does anyone have any idea which lounges i'll have access to (and which might be the best option?)

Cheers

Unless UL has a unique contract lounge for SYD departures, then I think your only option will be the QF International J lounge (access is based on oneworld class of service)

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi all,
Returning from Vienna to Sydney at the end of October on a QF codechare with Emirates.
Are there any OneWorld lounges accessible to me in VIE? It doesn't look like there are any, just wanted to confirm.

Thanks.

There isn’t, but even if there was you couldn’t access them on a QF codeshare, anyway. I’m not sure you’ll have any lounge access at VIE unless with EK class of service

Cheers,
Matt.

If you have a QF status(Gold or higher) you can access the VIE lounge in T1, which is one of the best third party lounges I’ve visited.
It doesn’t matter if booked on EK or QF flight number
As stated before, no dedicated Oneworld lounge as most Oneworld airlines also using the VIE lounge.

Hi all,
I am flying to Brussels with EK (EK metal and flight number, booked on EK) first leg is MEL/DXB in PE and DXB/BRU in Y. At present I have my QFF number on the booking to ensure I can enter the lounges. My question is, if use my new Emirates Skywards number on the booking can I produce my QFF Platinum card at the lounge to enter ?

Trying for the best of both worlds here, start the status grind on EK and use my QF status to get into lounges. Return journey is CDG/DXB in Y and DXB/MEL in PE.

Thanks in advance.
