Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

So, as it transpires, first class lounge access to the Sydney lounge is printed on the boarding pass.
Yes. Cathay’s rules for their own connecting passengers are more generous than oneworld policy.

Cathay grants lounge access based on the highest class of service you have that day… at all points in your itinerary.

So by flying first class to CDG, you get Fcl access everywhere.

Same if you bought economy class SYD-HKG, followed by F.

Cathay’s rules aren’t based on flight length. So business class TPE-HKG followed by economy class to New York would get you business class access in TPE and HKG.

Hi everyone, I know this is a long shot but I am flying with BA first (lax to lhr) arriving into Heathrow at 2pm, then flying out of same terminal next day at 11.40 (lhr to ams) but economy. With one world lounge access rules I think I can't get into first based on next day departure after 6am. Anyone thinks I can luck out and they let me through ? I would love to visit the first Concord room. Both flights ticketed separately. I am staying at an airport hotel overnight.
I thought I give an update. Lounge lady was very nice and let us through despite not “normally” the case. 😄

Wondering if anyone has had any experience in requesting flexibility on access/guest rules at SYD first lounge.
Travelling December on CX with wife and two kids. But eldest is now 18 so would officially count as a guest.
Just trying to understand if there might be any leeway so that we could all get in.

I will be through the lounge 4 or 5 times before then so will have a chat with the lounge staff but thought I would check here to see if anyone had similar experience.

I am QFF platinum, myself and wife flying PE, kids in the back...

Thanks!

Hello all new to the forum!

I’m hoping to get some knowledge from the more experienced flyers here around access to the Qantas First lounge in Syd, if flying Qatar First class.
I’ve read so many conflicting things- that QA is a one one world partner so first gets you access to the QF lounge, then reading others saying they were told to go to air NZ lounge even though they had QA first class ticket.

Even Dennis Bunnik review when he flew first with Qatar went to the NZ lounge.

I fly out tomorrow, any thoughts very much appreciated.

Cheers
Oliver

Both are correct. You are told to go to NZ but that’s because they hope you don’t know your access rights. You then actually go to QF F lounge. Only the gullible and meek should go NZ
And it’s QR for Qatar.

Officially you are one adult guest over the limit but in practice this may well be ok as long as not school holidays etc.

Go to the QF F lounge.
It’s far better than the NZ lounge.
Ignore any directives from check in staff re lounges.
I have no idea who Dennis Bunnik is but if he wants to grow his YouTube audience he should know the One World lounge access rules.

Hi we are Flying from HEL to Doha on a Qatar booked ticket (code share FINNAIR) in J Class. Our next flight is in on Qatar in economy to Muscat. Just wondering will we get access to the Doha business class lounge for our layover as our onward flight is in economy….

Does your reference to J Class mean business class generally or the specific fare bucket (Which can be any one of CDIJUPR)?

I've got oneworld sapphire and QF gold status. I'm flying jetstar HNL-SYD in Y. Does anyone know if I can enter the QF lounge in HNL? Also can I take a guest in? Thanks

Technically, yes, however as the Qantas lounge at HNL only opens 3 hours prior to the QF departure (currently 12:05PM), it’s unlikely to be open before you would board the early morning JQ flight (currently 8:20AM).

Cheers,
Matt.

Under oneworld connecting rules, if your Finnair ticket is eligible for lounge access, you will be granted access in DOH because you are connecting from long haul to short haul.

Lounge access for connections is based on the long haul class of service.

Thank you for the information
My only question, because i’m not sure if this has come up before… but if your finnnair business class ticket doesn’t come with lounge access, then I’m guessing the connection won’t either?

Otherwise, if your finnair does come with lounge access in HEL, you’ll certainly have access in DOH.

Thanks Matt that's helpful to know. I've got a Lounge buddy credit as well so may have to use that.
