Lounge Access on Arrival as QF Elite?

Does "on-arrival access" include a guest?
Sorry if this sounded like a Newbie question, which I wouldn't classify myself as such. I've never had cause to take in a guest on arrival so thanks to all for the clarification and thanks to AFF for providing such a great resource where travellers can share their experiences.

Absolutely. I’m very used to guesting Mrs BD into a lounge on arrival since she’s loathed to use the toilets either onboard or in the terminal but will use those in the Lounge … go figure …

BD

Didn’t sound like a newbie at all. As others have highlighted, WP benefits with regards to lounge access/guesting have changed significantly over the years - always pays to check on the latest “enhancements”!

Actually, a pretty good idea. Hadn't thought of it before...

I just got rejected on-arrival access at the Sydney QP. Lounge dragon had “never heard of on-arrival access”.

No problems at the Dom J lounge, where the attendants agreed that I should have been allowed in the QP as well.

I wasn’t bothered to go back and argue at the QP - I went there first because my friend was already parked there, but I brought her into the Dom J instead.

I’m surprised that the QP rejected access, but perhaps most people go straight to the Dom J.

Had your friend been travelling with you on the same inbound flight?

As far as I can tell as a WP, with arrivals access in practice the same rules for guesting apply as for departures.
ΩΩ Lounge access eligibility is based on a customer's class of travel, Qantas Club membership, Qantas Frequent Flyer or oneworld membership tier, or partner airline benefit. Access to Qantas lounges is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Qantas Club. Arrivals: Platinum and Platinum One Qantas Frequent Flyer members may access Qantas Domestic Business or Qantas Club lounges upon arrival, if you have travelled that day on any flight with a Qantas (QF), Jetstar (JQ, 3K or GK), Emirates (EK), China Eastern (MU) or a oneworld member airline marketed and operated flight number on your ticket. Departures: Eligible customers may access a Qantas Club lounge when their next onward flight on the same day is with a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ, 3K or GK) flight number on their ticket. Eligible customers who are travelling in Business or First, are Platinum, Platinum One Qantas Frequent Flyers or oneworld Emerald membership tiers, may access Qantas Domestic Business lounges. Partner and Associated lounge access is subject to various conditions of entry.
There is no differentiation in the guesting rules for WP:

Guest eligibility

Disclaimer:1 Two accompanying guests permitted and must be travelling on QF, JQ or oneworld®# marketed and operated flight on the same day.
