Loyalty Bonus changing from 1 July 2013

That might make sense....

And I can't go back to edit the other post...
Might do another one tomorrow with the correct figures so people can tell what the change is in percentage terms for varying value/point.

Ah you know, no ones mentioned it beside me and I only did that for correctness more than anything. Your previous figures clearly demonstrate the point and how to work it out. Having said that you should be able to edit your posts for up to 24 hours. There would be a little edit post thingy on the bottom right. Or a mod might edit for you if you give them the text.

Was referring to the original one I made on the 6th, it's been well and truly over 24 hours. :(

Wow, QF you sneaky little bugger

From 500 SC on any OW eligible airline, to now QF numbers only. Sneaky sneaky sneaky.

Makes sense, it's loyalty with Qantas. I fully expect this to also apply to the lifetime tally at some stage too, after all, your loyalty reward shouldn't be from travel on AnotherAirline, or any others.

Thinking evil thoughts, I wonder if the next "enhancement" will be 2400 SC on QF flight numbers for "additional Platinum benefits " ?
This might just be the start

And at 2,400 SCs you have a choice of several rewards one of which is 50,000 points. When I earnt my 2,400 SCs and logged onto the QF site I was given the choice and once I selected the points they were posted within a couple of hour.

I logged on to AFF to ask a question about the new loyalty bonus change & found this thread in my search for some mention. Read the whole thread to find this post. Thanks Hvr!

So my question is, WHERE do I find the descriptions of the other benefits part of Partner Gold / other benefits? There seems to be a triple repetition of Partner Gold, and I have trouble telling the difference between the individual paragraphs!! - my eyes just glaze over!, but no mention of the 50000 points nor the other things (valet parking) that were on offer a few months ago. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places?

Roughly speaking about here: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - 2400

Thanks for the quick replies. I have been looking for this for a couple of weeks now to no avail. And I do sort of know my way around the QF site!
Oz Mark & JessicaTam, the links you gave me work, but when I closed the link & tried to find that myself I couldn't see the same page. Hmm. Maybe time to update my iPad softwear.

Anyway, thanks again. Have been sweating on this since I realized I crossed the 2400 mark a couple of months ago, but have not seen the same congrats / invitation banner I got in the past. Then when the new t&c came out this week I thought that somehow a change had happened when I wasn't watching & I missed out.

LTG being changed to QF codes only would be a major downgrade of the program.

and one of the changes they will soon be able to implement with just three month's notice rather than six... potentially cutting a fair few people who might not be able to reach the 14000 in that time.

Agree 100%. But I would have thought changing the number of SCs rather than restricting it to QF codes only would be the better option.

This thread's becoming really depressing :(
Here's hoping the QFF "boffins" don't ever find it on a Google search ;)

I'd imagine the amount of members here that have recently achieved LTG or are about to are disproportionately skewed, and I doubt lifetime is a big issue to them. Plus, it also locks people in, and if they switch to another airline, then they're clearly not a burden.

For me, I wouldn't be surprised, nor upset if they changed the lifetime markers to count solely on QF (or even JQ too) codes, as that makes more sense than rewarding people for flying on partners. That said, if they moved the goal posts drastically further away, I'd be less inclined to stick with the program, and if they removed the benefit altogether, even less likely to stick with them. Granted, I might still fly with them, just not credit to them.

Things change though, it's inevitable, so I am not worried over when and how it'll happen, I just hope they realise what a change like that could mean to some.

And as above, this change I think is good for the program. No one should be getting up to 32,000 points a year for flying YUPP's in the US. Or CX around Asia.

but we NEED those 32,000 extra points to off-set the higher prices for (decent proper seating) partner award flights!!! :)

It makes a joke of the alliance model and weakens my loyalty to oneworld substantially.

has anyone confirmed with QF that JQ/3K flights will no longer count towards loyalty bonus?

Most JQ flights have a QF number assigned. Surely they would count in that case...?
Although a flight may have different flight numbers, your flight number is the one printed on your boarding pass. And flying JQ you can't buy a QF flight number.
