Re: QF loyalty bonus change

Was discussed here. Sneaky change.... very sneaky.

Re: QF loyalty bonus change

My annual 1000 status credit AA status runs become ever so slightly less valuable now... :-|

Hence the change.

I'm not surprised they've adjusted the loyalty bonus to actually reward loyalty to Qantas.

Yeah I totally appreciate why they're making this change. It is after all a Qantas LOYALTY bonus, not a Oneworld bonus. I'm just venting having just learnt about it.

Re: QF loyalty bonus change

It seems logical, but now let's take the cap off to actually reward loyalty.

Because they don't make money out of the oneworld alliance or when we earn points on oneworld airlines.

The reality is this loyalty bonus is just becoming more and more of a joke, in terms of rewarding loyalty.

Yes - seems a very strange thing to do:confused:

I submitted this as one of the questions* for the lunch event a few weeks ago

* Note to self - must remember to draft all future submissions to better align with QFF published propaganda ;)

Who pays for the QFF points when you take a Oneworld flight and credit to QFF? It is certainly not Qantas.

No arguments there.

Definitely. It's not a reward for loyalty at all, but a reward for frequency. At the very least it's a misnomer. I don't fly often (yet still manage to make the Silver grade), and used to get a bonus every 3-4 years. Now it's unattainable. This is despite the fact that 95% of all my flights are with Qantas. So much for rewarding loyalty.

I think that and not having it reset every year... but still keeping it to QF (or perhaps QF group - but some may claim with a % share in FJ they should be part of the group)...

And all those routes that have been replaced by that orange star...

Re: QF loyalty bonus change

Its very hard being loyal to Qantas living in Perth, one international flight only per day to Asia(Singapore)!

Re: QF loyalty bonus change

I scraped through very well in this change. Got my 2 of 4 in for the year, on AA, with only 10 'wasted' SC's. There's no chance I'll earn another again as VA get the lions share of my travel now.

Re: QF loyalty bonus change

Why don't they just get rid of it and be done with it?

Re: QF loyalty bonus change

So it's now possible to get WP and no loyalty bonii. :( If you get to 2,400 SCs (including your four ~ QF flights) would you still get the choice of bonus including the 50,000 QFF points?

Don't see why not IMHO

it is still listed as a benefit.
