"The changes are designed to create a fairer, more simplified program and to better reward you for the fare you pay. We've also made changes to the way you earn Status credits with other partners."

Good enough for me

Exactly my freakin' point. But do go on.

Wouldn't this discussion be better off in the other thread?

Daily Tele is reporting a fire has gutted the kitchen......

Back on humour-free topic. :-| Actually, one of these AFF-invite functions outside of Sydney wouldn't be bad at all. Its one thing to not make it to the Sydney CBD for lunch (or dinner), quite another to have to devote the better part of a day to it. Sort of eliminates anyone who has a regular sort of job, and who can't / doesn't want to take leave for a day, except maybe Sydney CBD-ers with long lunch times. What sort of filter does that put on the pool of possible attendees, I wonder?

There is a Rockpool Bar & Grill in Perth ;).

Also, I've just noticed that this is my 1000th post on AFF .

Middle of Lent too, if there are any observant types left.

And I thought you were joking :(. Looks like lunch with Lesley is off - but we could move it to PER. I'm available at short notice ;).

We're having a celebration at the real Rockpool (not the bar & grill rubbish) next month. You're welcome to join us ;)

Fancy daring to criticise QANTAS.....I mean, they are running a competition to select the Right People with the Right Questions to attend their little PR event.....

What caused you to be so bitter and negative?

Been there, done that - but at the old venue. What date?

First time at Bridge Street....early May. Have always enjoyed RP....we're doing lunch at Quay the day before (another first) so it will be good to compare.

I'm just glad I've been off enjoying myself on QM2 and have missed the negativity here. ;)

We are all pretty annoyed about the changes over the last 12 months but really the angst is directed at the wrong people here.

OK, I see the MEL one, thanks for the reminder - but I don't think the 'tweet and greet' was a AFF function?

Alice Springs would be a great spot for the next AFF-related one. Sort of central for everyone.

Are you trying to be funny again???
Mods! Take him away!

I would agree with some of your comments with regard to WP experience. WP I received fairly little additional value being from Perth but I would have to say that this year I have been readily utilising additional services having attained WP1 and I can say that these have been of benefit or certainly markedly better than WP and generally of an excellent quality with timely calls and follow up, quick turn-around of issues etc primarily due to the Platinum One Team which are excellent, so keep up the good work here please Qantas.

Oh, so they are not making an initial selection based on questions, are they?

Once you pass the initial test, you are allowed to ask anything you like....

I am truly amazed that people fall over themselves to win a free flight and lunch...what, haven't you people ever been shouted lunch before, nor been on an aeroplane....

Oh! That's right - they might open the door to the ultra secret CL, and give you a peek inside....that is all you will ever see, of course. You are not important enough to ever get the super dooper card.

Spare me....!

You hate my cynicism.... Well, let me tell you, my cynicism is based on reality. QANTAS harp on about loyalty....and can't be bothered to return your emails. And, when they eventually do, they blame someone else in the organisation...! "Oh, and our turn around time on emails is 14 days"....14 days to turn around an email...in 2014!

It is a truly pathetic way to run a business. If my staff carried on in that fashion with my major clients, I would be utterly horrified...and I would sort it. Personally, with the client.

QANTAS do not care. They may maintain a beautiful facade and dangle WP as a juicy carrot, but let me tell you, when push comes to proverbial shove, Lifetime Gold and 10 years WP mean zip.

SFA, in fact.

Enjoy your lunches.

Please give Lesley my very best wishes.

At an event in Perth when questioning Leslie about lounge facilities I was informed that "pretty much everyone utilising the lounge in Perth had platinum status" given this lounge is usually full even with the newer extension does this mean WP is a pretty common commodity?

There is a high proportion of both FIFO's and business who travel long distance and often in and out of PER and hence get a greater average SC per flight than those travelling mainly on the east cost.
