Lunch with Lesley

Im looking foward to reading the posts whilse the lucky winners are at the event next week. Be good to read all about it and thier excuses!

Whether it was AEDT or AEST, I didn't want to take a chance. Be conservative, so the deadline for the QLDers is 1600h.

Judging from the previous time I was invited to one of these, it'll take a few days before anyone finds out if they've been selected, unless they're keeping the Red Roos on this selection case on overtime with coffee and pizza tonight. :p

Well if the read receipts are working correctly Red Roo must have a lot to get through :)

Almost missed this, so I thought I should add my 3 questions.

I hope Qantas don't think that flights to/from Perth are too expensive.

See Post #117 http://www.australianfrequentflyer....m/lunch-with-lesley-58938-12.html#post1020285

I think Red Roo has provided an updated time zone for the cut-off...

Whilst I would assume Sydney time, it is an annoyance to me (being in Brisbane) when those south of the border quote AEST when they really mean Daylight savings.

And to be really pedantic, the quoted post didn't change the cut off specified in Post 1 - it merely stated that Red Roo intended to get an entry in an hour before the deadline :-)

(Posted from iPhone, so can't easily include appropriate smiley. And don't worry, I put my questions in yesterday).

I agree... I sought clarification on this issue back in post #93 http://www.australianfrequentflyer....m/lunch-with-lesley-58938-10.html#post1017819

But it may have got lost amongst the discussion...

Nice of QF to offer this to AFF members again.

Unfortunately I can't attend because I can't take the time off work... Someone needs to keep the economy going :p

Amusingly I am spending a lot of time in Australia and flying QANTAS for my current project. I'm doing about $1K of flexible economy tickets per week currently. This week's travel will net 120SCs and about 10,000 QF pts. Under the new scheme the SC earn is the same, but I would earn about 2,200 more pts.

I hope those who are selected have a good time :)

.... and Tiger even cheaper.

(Please determine your own definition of cheaper')

I hope Red Roo selects Straitman, I want to see how the shaved head looks, although that would probably mean I would have to get selected as well, but I am sure someone will post photos.

And if Red Roos sends me Jetstar or Tiger, then I might just get busy all of a sudden and not be able to attend.

I can't attend either, because I will be in Portugal, but I'm not going to say that is unfortunate ;)

That sounds better than Darwin where I will probably be.

Oh phooey. Too late for a change of mind and to ask my questions:

"Lesley, what wine do you think would go well with the Mac and Cheese?"

"Lesley, has anyone told you what a fantastic program QFF is?

... and then the one which shows we really ask the tough questions:

"Lesley, what made you decide that the particular words "simpler" and "fairer" would enter the AFF lexicon along side "enhancement" ? "

Actually, Qantas has become a bit Orwellian, hasn't it? From 1984: To WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, and IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH we can add:

ENHANCEMENTS ARE REDUCTIONS; SIMPLICITY IS COMPLEXITY and FAIRER IS LESS SO IF YOU AREN'T TRAVELLING BUSINESS OR ARE ON A ONE WORLD CODESHARE OR METAL OR ONE OF MANY SITUATIONS ON THE NEW, AMENDED, EARNING TABLES

Note: All the following are just a bit of (attempted) fun.

Qantas Loyalty might become the MINISTRY OF TRUTH.

Speaking out against Qantas Rockpool lunches would be THOUGHTCRIME

Mods here might become the MINISTRY OF LOVE

Anyone without status is a PROLE

CL & WP1 are obviously INNER PARTY

John Borghetti is possibly Emanuel Goldstein (I don't mean that personally JB)

Which I guess that all makes me WINSTON SMITH

RooFlyer - haven't you got better things to do with your time other than continually poking fun at what many members (myself included) consider to be a genuine attempt by Qantas to engage with their customers.

I suspect that if you did something a bit more constructive and meaningful with your time, you might become a less cynical person.

I apologise Admin and to others who have taken offence. My last post was an (obviously failed) attempt to leven the situation. No more thoughtcrime from me.

Roo Flyer is now a NON PERSON.

Fancy daring to criticise QANTAS.....I mean, they are running a competition to select the Right People with the Right Questions to attend their little PR event.....

Big Brother loves you and wants you to be happy.
