I got a Gold card in the mail instead of the platinum because I didn't meet the requirements. Cancelled the card. Won't sign up with Macquarie I reckon. It's unprofessional to just give a card that I didn't even sign up for without informing me first.

I'm hoping to sign up for another card within the next few days. Anyone know if pointless incident will make it harder to get approved for the next card I sign up for?

I usually apply multiple cards at the same period of time, so that banks can see better figures. I'll wait until I received all cards and PIN then activate on the same day . A bit tricky but end up my monthly credit limit almost reaching my yearly income.

My alerts at Dun & Bradstreet have come back very quickly (ie, emailed to me the next morning) when my credit file has been accessed. I believe that an enquiry response from a proposed lender is pretty much instant and is probably computerised.

Any multiple applications through different lenders at the same time will probably show up on subsequent enquiries.

I think I saw a question on the form, asking if you would take a gold card if you don't quality for a platinum card?

Yes, as there will be an entry on your credit history file now, an enquiry from Macquarie.

That's why I only apply when I am sure I will pass the tests.

Got my card in the mail yesterday - Macquarie were pretty finicky regarding checking my employment status etc.

Called my work number to confirm I worked where I worked and requested payslips.

No sign of the QP passes but as discussed previously in this thread, assume they are coming in the post.

Interestingly, the material that came with the card did not mention the promotional offer/ bonus points. How do you check that they have enrolled the card in QFF properly (and not the Macquarie scheme)?

You are asked if you want Macquarie or Qantas when you activate the card. You need to have your Qantas membership number ready when you call to activate.

Another useless card company. The PIN number of the card cannot be changed. If you forget your PIN, the operator told me they will cancel the card, and give you new card new card number and new PIN. Stupid.

Thanks very helpful.

Regarding your second point - QSCU wanted me to fly to another city to change my pin (no offer to cancel/ reissue).

Was it to one the following airports?: PER, SYD, MEL and BNE.

I would have accepted a return flight to PER. :p

+1

Totally agree

Cannot recall any card I have that offers no PIN change.

Good thing is I won't hang around with them for long to use the PIN

Received my first statement today but was unable to view it online, called the cs centre and they are going to try and fix it so that I can view on line. Asked about the passes again and was told would be sent within 60 days of my activation date which was Dec 24th...I fly on 23/2 so hope they arrive before.....call centre very helpful though

Thanks for the thread! Just signed up - hoping we get it by the 31st so we get the bonus offer. Plan to use it just for groceries for now, as much as we need to in the first 6 months, then see how we go after that.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Any luck with the viewing online. Mine no problem, SWMBO just can't get it to work. Call centre have been next to useless.

Managed to view statement print off and then received follow up call from call centre to ensure all was ok. So for the moment no problems
