card received, activated today, QFF number given, confirmed the 20,000/20,000 promo, confirmed.... was easy. Will eat my previous words *MUNCH*
Suggest you go back to this link and PDF the page before it is removed, clearly not Sept 16th that was advertised.*update*
I just called Macquarie again to follow up on the application, I was informed the 40k QFF - $5k spend promo has ended, it ended on Sept 16. >>Alarm Bells<<
I told the operator this was the entire reason I applied for this card, also why I submitted the application on Aug 7 to allow for sufficient time for Macquarie Card to complete their processing! I requested she put me through to her supervisor.. Which she did.
The supervisor arrives on the line, I explain the situation, she responded that my application is still in being processed and no determination has been made yet. So I asked about the 40k QFF promo, all she could offer was that she would escalate that with their marketing dept, however no promises or guarantees that I will receive the promo if I am approved for the card! What the?!
The supervisor has now requested that I give her 3 business days to chase up my application and whether it’s been approved or declined. Then, IF it’s been approved she will follow up on the possibility that they will still give me the QFF points promo. Dear oh dear … What a mess.
I expect a phone call from Macquarie Cards by the end of this week.
Did they charge you $50 for joining Qantas Rewards?

Macquarie MPW Qantas Frequent Flyer exclusive offer
Then say you will go to FOS and the ACC for misleading and deceptive conduct. My suggestion is spend the 10 minutes putting it in writing you will save time in the long run over speaking with CSR's who clearly dont have much of a clue.
Sorry, unsure of your point here unless it was just to make obvious none of these state any September date? From your link

The post I was quoting said that saving the screenshot from the link could help.Sorry, unsure of your point here unless it was just to make obvious none of these state any September date?
Pretty simple, I work in the credit world myself and know that taking 6-8 weeks to approve an application is way beyond the immediate to 48 hours that is standard in the industry.A reasonable person making an application in early August would be entitled to expect that they would have approved or declined it within a couple of days and that's the case I will be making to FOS and ACCC. And yes, my credit expereince is largely in the area of compliance so I have a pretty good idea how they will react. The post I was quoting said that saving the screenshot from the link could help.
Unfortunately, I have to disagree.
I don't see how saving the link would help, given the terms and condittions of the 40,000 points include being 'approved for a Mac Visa Platinum Card by 31/8/13'.
If someone has been approved in September (the relevant person quoted by the person I quoted had not yet been approved on 18 September), then, per the link that, they would not be entitled to points. Screenshotting the link thus doesn't seem particularly useful - indeed, could be detrimental.
