You're off the hook! Was the cause sleep deprivation?

Traveled SYD to Queenstown on Saturday on QF139. The QF139 from Friday had been delayed to Saturday due to weather so was operating as QF139D on Saturday and running a few hours before the regular service. In the lounge enjoying breakfast, which I thought I'd timed perfectly to give me plenty of relaxation time, and the boarding announcement was made though I hadn't finished my food! So I bolted it down and then headed to the bus gate 26G. The boarding pass beeped as it was scanned and the gate attendant informed me that I was on the 'other' flight. I looked at the BP for the first time and realised it told me I was boarding over an hour later from gate 55.

I think the problem was the delayed flight had upset the websites and databases, for example, a Google of 'QF139' on the day showed just one flight - the delayed flight and that's what stuck in my mind.

Wanted to stay at LIM.Searched reviews and the Wyndham Casa del sol was the closest so went to the Wyndham site to book it.Put in LIMA airport and 2 came up.Naturally I booked the first on the list.Turns out the 2 Wyndhams are Casa Del Sols and I had booked the city one.Having just spent 90 minutes chasing our bags with LAN we both were in no mood to go into town.Unfortunately I had booked a prepaid rate so paid for both tonight.
The attitude of the checkin lady suggested this was a reasonably common mistake.

In the Malaysia Airlines Thread I made a comment about being happy that I was successful in a Business Class Upgrade bid for my Perth - Kul flight. I happily set about booking our meals, selecting our lie flat seats - the single seat row of course so we could happily zone out during the flight.

Yesterday we turned up for the flight and the woman at the check-in mentioned that we had selected single seats and not a pair - and then advised that there had been a change of equipment and that the business class seats were now all in pairs. I assumed that the refurbished A330 had been replaced with an un-refurbished one with the old angle flat seats in pairs. She then gave us a letter apologising for the downgrade and offering a 50% discount (exclusive of taxes & fuel surcharges) on a flight to the same region in the same class within the next 12 months, which seemed a nice touch - knowing that the T & C's always mention the chance of an equipment change.

We then toddled off to the QF lounge until the boarding call was made. As we walked towards our gate the MH plane came into view - looking awfully small. Our anticipated refurbished A330 with lie flat seats had turned into a B737-800 with seats of a different era, our fancy selected meals had turned into a choice of Nasi Lemak or "sausage" - perfectly reasonable for a SQ economy class meal. No sign of any alcohol for the entire flight - didn't particularly worry me but not what a Business Class flight from Perth - Kul is supposed to offer - I assume the plane was hauled off one of there "regional" runs where alcohol is not served. Being old seats they did at least have some padding and reasonable legroom even though the IFE box in front of me often lead me to stick one foot out into the aisle. But a complete letdown over what I had been bidding for.

The letter said the change was "unavoidable due to operational constraints" but amazingly enough the pax load on the cancelled A330 just happened to nicely fill the B737. Of course the important thing was that I arrived safely into Kul - but if I had paid full whack for the flight I think I would have been less relaxed.

Booked accommodation in Honolulu for the Saturday, thinking if we depart Sydney on Friday night we would arrive in Honolulu on the Saturday. Except I didn't take into account the time difference and we arrived Friday morning instead. Had to book a room which was 3 times the price I paid for the same hotel for that extra night.

And even more amazingly the load KUL-PER ALSO just happened to nicely fill the B737.....how lucky for MH!

Booking a flight from BKK-KUL return on MH and then fitting the rest of the flights via SIN to BNE and then SYD to SIN and then KUL.

Need to leave 3-4 hours connection especially at KUL on unprotected itineraries which has increased the travel time.

One of these days I will learn not to to piece things together for the fun of it.

During my last F lounge visit I was fortunate enough to obtain a spa visit and booked my usual facial.

The therapist remembered me and showed me the room and asked if I needed instructions on how to prepare. No problems replied I and she left.

I took of my shirt etc and laid down on the lounge with my trousers on.

Trouble was I laid down with my head at the wrong end. Fortunately it was easily fixed although embarrassing.

We both laughed as I moved to the correct position.

When I was booking for Qantas flights from SYD to LHR I was really confused as to why prices were so high and there were 2 or three connections to go to London, including one in Vancouver!

It wasn't until much later in the booking process did I realise I selected London, Canada! Thankfully I hadn't purchased the tickets yet so it was all fine :)

Made mistake flying JQ again when will I learn, but no choice direct CNS/DPS/CNS exit seat squab totally worn out sat on shell  of course they charged extra for it, rear end survived the 4.5 hour flight.

Did that my last trip to Hawaii ðŸ

Took more than an hour at LAS tsa screening as the missus doesn't have OW status. Hadn't realised we could have used priority lane as benefits are extended to all passengers on same booking (only found this out after).

Barely made it before doors closed (no doubt they were holding off closing for us). Cabin manager gave us the death stare when we boarded (this was an AA flight), understandably so as we ended up missing the slot into LAX and had to sit on the tarmac for close to an hour.

Generally AA close boarding at T-10 so did you board within this time frame?

I'm sure he/she was not the only one giving you death stares :D
