No idea if this helps but LHR-HEL-TLL often prices up cheaply

Timing .... we all suffer from it. The other week I held off booking flights with AeroMexico, due to waiting on other travel arrangements to be decided/confirmed. End result - the delay in deciding cost an extra $184 x 4

Any award seats? Would seem a good use of 8000 points! (or not depending how much the 63 miles is by ferry!)

Same here. I was checking various websites for the best fares HKG-OKA when the cheapest just went up $100. Of course, it was due to Chinese new year. But, swings and roundabouts. You just have to suck it up.

Not really our mistake but we fell for it anyway.

Three of us travelling MEL-SYD-NAN. 2 X QF Gold and 1 QF nothing. Checkin agent checked all the bags in the name of the non status person (we didn't notice till later) and then 2 of the 4 bags went missing. IF we had ensured that they were checked in against a Gold member then maybe they would have had some priority and not gone on their own little sub-holiday.

I couldn't find any. But we've decided to overnight in HEL and catch the ferry the next day so not all bad :)

That's what I'm doing too, the ferry is only 2.5 hours or so and goes from close to the centre, I doubt it end up taking much longer.

I've had two. One sucked and one was mortifying. I'm sure you will be able to work out which was which for yourself.

I booked a flight from BNE to CNS. Arrived at BNE and discovered I'd actually booked CNS to BNE.

I fell asleep (I always sleep on planes, even short haul), and woke up snuggled up on my neighbours shoulder. In J too. I was horrified. He was really lovely about it and had let me sleep on him for about 30 minutes

I've done the reverse booking myself and that does suck! For the other, I hope you didn't dribble as well! :D (can we assume you are a lady?)

Leaving booking domestic flights to the last minute as plans were not 100% complete. Even booking some flights 1 month out can hurt.

Oh how I miss the airfares of 2010....

I had this happen to me twice, both in J (the old QF style). I don't sleep, even on long haul, and being over 6' tall means that my shoulder is often at that 'just right' height.

I don't mind and only woke one "sleeping neighbour" when I wanted to go to the WC. The other I was concerned that she would be mortified so left it hoping she would shift positions and never know, but to no avail - when she woke was very embarrasse

Really need to stop booking flights on VA and their "partners".

- First off my SQ pre-allocated aisle seats were wiped out by the VA website 2 days ago
- and today I am travelling BNE-PER-SIN-CGK and return and I am going to PER without SQ boarding passes. There were 2 staff members trying to print and the system would not check me in for international flight. Hopefully can sort everything out in PER tonight at SIN check-in desk.

At least I have the boarding pass for domestic flight. What odds of me turning around in the morning? :(

Well at least you can get the domestic flight. *ducks* ;)

Sitting up in MEL SKL F right now reminded me of a little mistake I made some years back. At that time I had multiple pairs of identical elastic sided slip on Windsor Smith shoes in various colours - just perfect for plane travel.

I arrived into MEL SKL J Lounge one night to discover I had 1 black shoe and 1 dark brown shoe on - way too late to do anything about it - I wore them a full week in China and I swear I was the only person who noticed.
