Malaysia Airlines Delays/Cancellations

A333 9M-MTJ on MH123, the Saturday 28 April scheduled 2345 hours late night KUL down to SYD that took off at 0122 on Sunday 29 is likely to arrive at 1036 hours, 36 minutes late.

Saturday 5 May 2018 has MH141, the morning 0910 hours KUl down to SYd that was not in the sky until 1023, likely to arrive at 2008 hours, 33 minutes late. 9M-MTM is the aircraft.

On Thursday 10 May 2018, the 0910 hours KUL - SYD (MH141) took off at a much delayed 1244 with A333 9M-MTK. Arrival is shortly at 2207 hours, 152 minutes late.

Unless the airline has a team of guardian angels who sweep in, it will be impossible to take off by 2300 hours as MH140. It will be interesting to see if 'the delegate' gives the OK for a dispensation to the curfew.

UPDATE: The angels must have been present as return flight MH140 took off from SYD, amazingly, at 2301 hours.

This 54 minute effort from gate to takeoff, including taxiing for the latter, is the fastest ever that I can recall observing for an A330 turnaround. Perhaps they left freight ULDs on the tarmac. One wonders how much cleaning was done in the cabins.

My relatives were supposed to fly out of SYD on MH140 tonight but it was cancelled yesterday so they ended up being rebooked on the earlier flight today. In fact, I heard that MH had cancelled MH140 for the last 3 consecutive nights due to lack of passengers and upgauged the afternoon flight to an A380...

Very annoying from a passenger perspective, as it may not suit everyone to transfer to a flight that departs hours earlier. Gives one a lack of confidence to book with this airline if it cancels flights at short notice and it's not due to unforseeable weather or mechanical reasons.

MH78 KUL-HKG delayed at least 80 minutes tonight. Currently showing a departure time of 2110 hours.

Still more time to check out the Golden Lounge Satellite F dining room.

The day flight arriving in MEL in the evening ex KUL is also delayed on 29 June with A333 9M-MTF on MH129 arriving at 2020, an hour late.

MH123, the overnight KUL - SYD that has A380 9M-MNA should arrive on Monday 2 July 2018 at about 1038, 38 late.

The redeye from KUL down to MEL, MH149 is arriving on Friday 6 July 2018 with A333 9M-MTI at 0824, 34 minutes behind schedule.

For the second consecutive day, MH149 is late, with the Saturdayb 7 July 2018 arrival likely at 0834 hours, 44 minutes tardy for A333 9M-MTG.

The day flight MH149 (A333 9M-MTD, the scheduled 0920 hours KUL - MEL that took off at 1233 hours) is arriving at 2139 hours, 139 late.

As the return, redeye flight MH128 is not timetabled to depart until 2325 hours, it has every chance of a timely departure. This once more shows the value of international airlines having longer than minimum time turnarounds, where slots are available and other considerations make it feasible.

Overnight,, MH134 from BNE to KUL (A333 9M-MTK) had to turn back after what AvHerald says was the crew finding airspeed unreliable.

After landing an hydraulic oil leak was discovered. The main BNE runway had to be closed for 20 minutes meaning EK432 from SIN had to divert down to MEL (SYD closed to aircraft of that size due to the curfew).

Tuesday 24 July 2018 sees MH149, the overnight from KUL to MEL with A333 9M-MTO arriving at 0911 hours, 81 minutes late. As the returning MH148 is not timetabled to depart until 1355 this afternoon, it should be on time.
