Does anyone know if all the SYD to KUL flights and return are with the new A333s or the old ones or is it a bit of a lottery?

Thanks in advance. Just booked a flight and hope to get the double points, but will be happy with the SCs.

I think they're still running 777s on this route too - sounds like till at least March based on KLN's post. If you have a choice, and the schedule suits, I'd go for the 777. The 777 cabins are a little more tired, but the seats are essentially the same and the seat pitch is huge (I can't over-emphasise just how big it is!).

Thanks, but I am going early April and the schedule is all 333s. I will have a 777 connecting flight to China.

Will do a trip report on SYD-KUL later this week.
Great, and am looking forward to it...I have a Syd-Kul return in J in April booked for 40K Enrich miles when MH had their 1/2 price award redemptions last year!

I too will be in J. Can't select seats yet as their site doesn't work for manage bookings. Can check in tomorrow afternoon so will report on seat then.

Just as a FYI, for online award bookings you have one chance - and one chance only - to select seats online before check-in, which is during the booking process. After that, you can still select seats in advance, but need to call them. Completely bizarre (that you can select online while booking, but not once booked), but that's how it works.

Not just award bookings..ANY bookings it would appear. My trip was paid for, and doing online checkin allowed me to select seats..the first time only. Despite the wording showing the below:

You are checked-in. Please confirm your check-in details. You may change seat and add / update Frequent flyer number if needed

The MH website suggests that my SYD-KUL sector will be on a 744, and the return leg will be on Variable Equipment..so the 333 may only be on the way back..

Yup, quite a tired and weary old 744... but at least there is in seat power so I can get a lot of work done.....maybe... Oh and only juices on offer upon arrival in seat.

It's sad that MH doesn't have A380's for the SYD or MEL routes. I heard it's some type of restriction imposed on them. Does this mean we will never see the A380 in Australia? i.e. only the small A333's? eventually the 772's will be retired as well...

Accoding to MAS website, the previous "Book the Cook" facility which was only available for the MH Platinum or F customers is now available for all J pax . need to ring and put your order in

Just had a quick look...can QF WPs order from the Enrich Platinum Business menu if travelling J class? PS: you can actually order online within 30 days of travel.
