Malta Sicily Belfast Cornwall and a few others in between

Titanic Museum and Black Taxi tour both get a vote from me.

Also check out St Georges Market for local produce, art and souvenirs. Whilst you are there, and if you aren't troubled by coronary matters, you could sample a Belfast Bap filled with a full cooked breakfast.

In 1982 I was driving my Volkswagen Beetle around Cornwall and discovered the Minack. I’d always wanted to go to Cornwall after reading all the Daphne du Maurier books when I was a girl. As a side note I had been given a box set of her books and had lent them to a friend after she was recovering from a broken arm and her husband threw them all out. I’ve never forgiven him.

I saw a production of David Copperfield and it’s one of those memories that is etched in your brain of watching the sun set over the ocean watching a play.

I went back in 2017 and it had changed quite a lot. It even has a cafe now. I also went to Jamaica Inn in 2017 and it was so tacky I was so disappointed

Eaten here a few times in Cornwall. ‘Very Rebecca ish’ views and lovely food

I'm originally from that part of the world so the only time I have done a black cab tour was circa 20 yrs ago with my then girlfriend, now wife, when we first visited my folks. So unfortunately I can't make a current recommendation. IIRC we arranged it through the tourist office but I imagine it can all be done online now.

I think our guide was originally from the Netherlands but had been living in Belfast for years. He was in a good position to relay stories from both perspectives as opposed to a more one-sided view.

We were there in July '23 and used this mob Paddy Campbell's – Belfast Famous Black Cab Tours. We did the political murals tour. The driver appeared a little hungover so was maybe not quite on his game but was he very informative and seemed unbiased. My brother used them as well just prior to us being there and he thought they were very good.
