Any chance anyone is in BNE QP/J today prior to 13:30??

My folks are stuck in BNE with a long layover after their HKG flight :)

Hi All, I am usually too shy to post in these things but I am facing the prospect of having to choose between friends so am hoping someone might be able to help. Will anyone be in the SYD QF F lounge early on the 23rd who has a spare guest spot? I am flying out on QF 45 (8:25am) with 2 friends and would be very grateful if someone could help me out by guesting one of them so I don't have to choose who has to go and sit at Macca's.

Dear SeatBack, thanks for the compilation. I have found it so much faster - now I can see at a glance if anyone is going to be at the lounge when I am passing by.

Sorry I cannot help on that day but you do know that you can guest one into the business lounge and the other into the First lounge?

If the staff in First lounge are friendly that day may even let both in or may let them take turns in using First lounge.

Thanks for the replies

I would (and have several times when travelling domestic with more people than I can guest) but it is my first international flight since making WP and I really want to go into the F lounge plus I am gluten intolerant and Macca's doesn't actually make anything I can eat.

Is guesting one into each lounge a legitimately allowed? As this might be a solution if the F lounge staff are not feeling accommodating. If if it is of slightly questionable legitimacy can I still try it if we get rejected asking nicely for the 3 of us to come in at the F lounge (ie am I likely to get caught out for poor behavior and rejected twice and so would it be better to just guest one to J and one to F from the start)

I agree with, definitely go with the Flounge experience.
Tough choice.

Not that I've had experience in guesting into the International lounges, but I would've thought the approach would be:
1. Rock up to F Lounge first and politely request if possible to guest both in
2. If that fails, walk away, draw straws for who's going to J lounge.
3. Go with 1 guest only to J Lounge and take in as guest.
4. Hang around for short period and then discreetly leave J Lounge, leaving 1 guest there
5. Collect other guest and head to F Lounge to enter legitimately. If F Lounge query where other person is (that is, if their questioning seems to indicate some concern about what you've been up to), distract somehow to avoid providing a proper answer... "poor friend drew short straw and had to stay at Maccas..."

Surely your friends would be appreciate the opportunity to be guested into any lounge at all regardless which one they each end up in? Of course, one may just get a slightly worse deal, though no worse than not having a lounge at all, some may say. Good luck.

Your BP is scanned upon entry so they might be able to see that you've already entered the J lounge with guest.

Is it possible that your J lounge guest may be asked to leave the J lounge or you might be asked to return to the J lounge to remain with your guest?

Would be good to hear from an insider to answer these questions.

Just say the guest is with you and were just checking out the J lounge before going to the Flounge? Or do they scan the guess' BP as well?

It is legitimate.

Go into business lounge with a guest. Then go into First lounge with either same guest or a different guest. I do not think they will check that you were just in the business lounge and guested someone there and it is not the same person.

Also check if it is possible to have more than 1 guest in the First Lounge as long as both guests are not there together. Need to check at terms and conditions but is it one guest per day or 1 guest per visit?

2 weeks ago I guested 3 people into the QF MEL F lounge flying CX in Y+

All depends on the lounge angel, how full the lounge is and if you are really nice when asking ;)

And we did it about a year ago before flying jq too. I think MEL is more willing than SYD. But if the lounge is busy then all bets are off.

Of course we did, how could I forget that trip, that was a fun day. The JQ 35/36 double! At about $25 bucks each way? Fun times!

Does the guest have to be on the same flight?

Once when I took someone into the flounge on a different flt they were roundly told 'no way'. I wasn't even aware of that rule up to that point.
