Depends on how the terms and conditions are interpreted on the day.

It's funny how for OWE it's a guess that has to be travelling on a OW flight but for WP's it's got to be the same flight...

Isn't it "travelling together" for WP. For example they could be travelling together SYD to LHR on different flights.

It is, but I wouldn't consider travelling on different flights to be travelling together. That's just traveling, as you aren't with each other. But then you could argue you traveled to the airport together, traveled from security to the lounge, etc.

Qantas can do what they wish with their own elites - this includes varying guesting rules. They still must adhere to oneworld contracts for elites of of other oneworld carrier programs.

Travelling from origin to destination being together both before and after the flights. The flights is just one small part of the bigger travel picture. There is no need to be on the same flights to travel together.

That is how you interpret "Travelling together" which is not quite how Qantas would see it.

And just for clarification someone travelling SYD-BKK on Qantas and someone travelling SYD-BNE-SIN-KUL-BKK are travelling together?

How do you know how Qantas see it? the term is not defined in the T&C. It is open to interpretation.

I'm not going to indulge your hypothetical question along with silly routing suggestion. My original reply on this was made in relation to SYD-LHR and was based around one person on QF and the other on BA. That is the context of my comment, which also considered risk mitigation measures e.g. not sending all key employees on the same flight. Taking a tour of LCC around SE Asia is not efficient business practice.

I'm on the 9pm flight to brisbane.

Haha ... I doubt I can checkin 8 hours early ...

I did spend 9 hours in the Lufthansa FCT once, but that was their fault (Was flying FRA-KTW, they wanted $600 for the morning flight or $70 for the afternoon flight ... that was a no brainer). Was a wonderful day :D (raining / snow so no point going to town)

Because I have experienced it on more than one occasion.

One time I was guesting someone who was on the flight as me and their boarding had a different colour and she rejected them without checking the boarding pass. It was not until I told her we were on the same flight that she had a closer look and then reprinted a boarding pass to look like mine so that she would not look too confused.

Silly routing? Very realistic.

Would it have been simpler for you to understand if I had used SYD-SIN-LHR and SYD-HKG-LHR as an example? Still not traveling together regardless of the destination.

In HKG you can use in town check-in as early as you like. Some people have been known to head out to Central, check-in and head back to airport during long transits.

Ha yes pretty long time in a lounge if the choice was that or exploring HK more!

31 Mar BNE QF JLounge 06:15 to 06.45 then QF509 to SYD
31 Mar SYD Intl Flounge 14.30 to 16.30 then QF1 to DXB (thanks to markis10 for guesting me)

Looks like quite a long FLounging experience arranged there ;)

He's probably seeing a couple of clients, being the good boy that he is, maybe doing the nice little Tarmac tour from Dom to I, a bit of shopping, then into the Flounge.

Start with a nibble of something nice followed by a shower to freshen up for the ordeal. Then a spa appointment. Finally some lunch & libations, maybe be in attendance for a couple of speeches, & finish off with strawberries & champagne before boarding. And being told "turn right Sirs & head to the back of the bus. Middle seats for both of you."

:( Workshop went ... a different way than expected, so Thursday is locked in an office here just trying to make sense of it all (So can't go explore HK anyway). May as well sit and work in the lounge, at least there is a free bar to get me ready for the overnight flight in Y :-/

I'll PM you my mobile, if I do find myself there I'll send you a message, I'd be very thankful :)

Cheers,

David

EDIT: Nevermind, 4pm meeting
