Just a quick day trip to SYD booked last night at 11pm. Don't you love those last minute change of plans

must have just missed you at the J lounge :p

I am in Perth today, but have changed my trip... Now retuning tomorrow (until I change it again).

Thankfully having flown the first segment QANTAS were much more useful than in the recent past.

Anyhow, back on topic...

Just food for thought for maybe next year . Look to have Xmas celebrations a weekend earlier , so we can latch onto some specials . The thought of having to pay $300 return for a SYD-MEL pushes the budget a bit .

I think I might be priced out as well. Looking at more than $1300 from SIN on QF. Even Scoot is approaching 4-figures.

There's always the train :P

And this forum is ???? Surprised to see this from you CaviAck :p:lol:

Well I did beg my dad to take the train instead of fly when I was like 4. (Thank god my dad said no)
But hey, I'm only giving a suggestion. Personally I would never do such a thing unless there was a high speed option like the TGV or bullet train. :P

Have a check about using miles.

I took an international cross-border bus to attend the KUL/SIN lounge crawl last week... Looks like I'll find my account locked and deleted the next morning!

No longer a frequent flyers forum. More like a best bargain deals when travelling forum.

But seriously the airfares recently are a joke. Something is not quite right. There were always specials on offer even for peak holiday periods. Now the specials are there once ~6-9 months out and with each new special the airfare for those dates increases.

One option for this event is to book award flight(s).

The effects of ending the capacity war is probably showing I suspect. Both airlines no longer need to overly worry about filling seats?

Maybe. I have been commuting SYD-BNE for 7 years mainly on QF and before this year I could probably count on the one hand the number of times business was not full. Even on 767's. My last 3-4 flights not full in business.

The current airfares on the triangle are too expensive.
