Might be easy to put all glasses in the middle and divvy up a bottle. Whiteboard market to label the glasses?
bc I am only playing with you - YES I agree the last event may have rated highly on the 'higgledy piggledy' scale - but what can you expect when dealing with degenerates like samiam, AdMel, Goodonya etc?
And just imagine the squabbles that will arise if YOU were to get 40ml and I only received 35ml - akin to WW4 me tinks! In a group of 20 each pax would only get 37.5mL of wine (roughly a shot glass).

FWIW, I think it worked "okay" last time. Having multiple bottles open meant each bottle lasted longer.
Social wine tastings are tough in large groups as everyone wants some of each wine, but there is a limited bottle size. In a group of 20 each pax would only get 37.5mL of each wine (roughly a shot glass).
I shall leave the event planning to your infinite wisdom blackcat20.

Sorry, when did I miss WW3? I thought WW4 would be fought with sticks and stones - akin to WW4 me tinks!
I agree, it is hard, and maybe just isnt possible with a group this size...
Plus (a) you're probably not going to taste the bottle you brought; and (b) you've probably tasted one or two other offerings before.
As a champagne novitiate, I'll try to taste 19/20 (37.5ml x 19 is about a bottle anyway).

One suggestion is that we organise into "brackets" so there are 3-4 bottles open at once and people can taste what they want in that bracket.
Start with the light ones as an aperitif, and move to the fuller bodied ones with food.
Sounds like you speak from experience, but word is you don't drink.
That could definitely work. I'm sure there will be some that people don't want/need to try leaving more for those that do. Sounds much more orderly and doable given the number of pax.One suggestion is that we organise into "brackets" so there are 3-4 bottles open at once and people can taste what they want in that bracket.

And I'm bringing this:
