Sounds like a nasty virus, hope you feel better.
I'll do my best to attend the dinner, please add me as gold for now.
First time I've ever had proper flu and I never want to do that again.
Will update thread when I'm on a computer later.

I'm interested in attending. I'm whatever the lowest status is. Still collecting points, not up to status credits yet. Just wondering why this is important for dinner though?

Status for social events is used to indicate whether you are able to come along or not:

Platinum - You couldn't keep me away with wild horses
Gold - I should be able to make it as long as nothing unforeseen happens
Silver - I won't be able to come unless a fairy godmother waves a magic wand
Bronze - No hope as I am on the other side of the planet and all flights have been grounded

Copper - A special status for a particular AFFer who can never seem to make up his mind what he is doing until the day of the event - and even then struggles.

I see Jess has answered your question better than I would have.

Hope we see you there.

Ah, thank you that makes a lot more sense. Put me down as gold at the moment.

Aah, that's answer I had wanted to know.

I'll be in MEL for June 24 and I'm tossing if I extend my stay for two more days.

Aaha, that makes sense now. I was thinking that people were segregated on their QF status or their number-of-posts status. At least this function looks like I don't have to have a Masters degree in sommelier-ism (CAN II was sounding a bit too daunting for a newbie like me! :) ).

I'll tentatively say a silvery type of Gold - white gold - how's that for decisiveness? (actually depends on how many patients walk in the door at 5 minutes to closing).

I've booked Fri night's accommodation in anticipation of Fairy God Mother's sprinkle of magic dust that I would need to be in Mel that week. Fingers crossed!
