This Melbourne versus Sydney debate always amuses me.

Hardly unique though, lots of comparisons are drawn between cities in the same country, or even different countries each have their pluses and minuses ..... Montreal vs Toronto, SFO vs LA, Madrid vs Barcelona, Rome vs Milan, Sao Paulo vs Rio, Jo'burg vs Capetown, Beijing vs Shanghai, Singapore vs KL, Mumbai vs Delhi, Edinburgh vs Glasgow, Hanoi vs Saigon, NYC vs London, Moscow vs St Petersburg, Gold Coast vs Sunshine Coast, Tom Price vs Newman ;) .....

Sorry to disagree dajop, but I would say it was Port Hedland versus Karratha, Tom Price versus Paraburdoo, and Newman versus errr lets forget Newman.

I don't think Paul is going to trade Potts Point for Fountain Gate anytime soon... :)

I don't think I want him near me... of all the suburbs, you chose mine!!

As a very poor cousin living in Perth, I have to say my vote goes with Melbourne (even though they can't let go of the AUSTRALIAN football league, and they stole the formula 1 from SA). I really enjoy Melbourne. the trams, the hook turns, the airport with all REAL (Not J*) airport terminals in one place with the Hilton and Holiday Inn AT the airport.

I have to agree with Reggie on this one.

When my employer asked which eastern seaboard city the could get me to, I answered that given a choice, I would go for Melbourne. And that will be happening soon!

At Collins and Spencer. Diagonally across the road from Southern Cross station.

Ta.

Do they actually make them there or just sell them :?:
Not sure about that one.
Beats getting the train out to Fountain Gate though. And to think I've done that commute over 18 months for work (well, narre north... but close enough). Handy for buying doughnuts at that time. ;)

Hehe, well, for one thing it is for two years then I come back, and part of my role helps WA!

Some would say it needs help. I wouldn't be so rude though :!:

There are those that would say Victoria needs help. But I wouldn't be so rude!

Oz_mark appologies upfront, not personal, but have wanted to use this line for ages.
