Re: Synopsis of Evening

Thanks; didn't see that.

There is a far quicker way to walk to the city, but the bridge doesn't seem to be listed in google maps. There's a footbridge over the yarra from crown, coming out at King Street. This is far more direct. As you leave Largerfield on Clarendon Street, walk up and turn right down the promenade. The foot bridge is just up on the left:)

Those of us doing the GCC will prefer the longer way! :p

Looks like Quanjude is on the North end of MEL city centre. Quite some distance from Hilton MEL SW.

Basically means as soon as we are off JQ35 (three of us), we hot foot to Skybus, then hope we get a good transfer to hotel; check-in and off we go.

We could consider taxi from hotel to Quanjude, but that would be cheating :) and not good for GCC records :(. However, time may beat us on that decision...

Queensbridge St could save 300 metres ... :D

we dont have a great deal of time at Quanjude and the restaurant will try and prepare our meals together... for the GCC, walk to the next venue, get a taxi to this one ;)

Noobie question, as this is my first event, in a busy bar, how am I going to spot you guys?

Look for the group of people that look like someone you would not want to meet when by yourself walking through a dark alley!

.... just joking!

and Flashware will be tar and feathered - should be easy to spot ;)

That should keep him warm :p

OTOH when we were travelling in Europe, Flashware wanted nothing but cold weather (and colder still!)

Which we finally got when we hit EDI! Nice shock to the system

I'm sure I'll well and truly get my dose of it in a few months... day in, day out:!:

And it starts!

Well, we have checked into the Sofitel on Collins, Mrs munitalP gold card hopefully got us a better room - it seems OK, 37th floor with a good view.

It's 1525 and I'm knocking back a heineken while waiting for SWMBO to do her face and hair, I have a feeling I may get 2 or 3 in :)

Im at the bar on level 35, nice view of windy Melbourne. So far, so good...
