I thought the vessel looked more like a pipe-laying vessel or large cutter suction dredge than a rig (read drill-ship) as no derrick or cranes.
Ok, and mooring connector/turret one end. Possible.Looks like it may be an FPSO or variant. Can see a helideck port forward, a provisions crane starboard midships and a flare tower aft though don't hold me to it as the image is very washed out.

Former Malaysian PM lays blame on Boeing for MH370 disappearance
What a recalcitrant goose!!!
A senior Boeing 777 captain and a former crash investigator agreed that given the information outlined in the preliminary report issued late last week, "human input was essential" for the MH370 to end its flight in the Indian Ocean.
What did you expect. Check the writer of the article. If he names another "expert" it would detract from his 15 mins of fame.What....no names of these so called "experts"??
More "aviation experts" weigh into the debate:https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/latest/a/23222670/mh370-had-to-have-human-interference/?cmp=ydnWhat....no names of these so called "experts"??
This seems interesting.. especially as we blew a lot of dough while everyone else cheered us on.
MH370: The pings were not from the black box
Increasingly sounding like we are all back at square one. Unless someone is in fact withholding some information.
Is it just me or does a 5 page "preliminary" report just not seem right?

Well if you really are into conspiracy theories here is one of the best.I Jim Rickards book "the death of money" says on the 5th and 6th of September 2011 the stock of United Airlines went from a situation of about equal people shorting the stock to buying to a level of 12 to 1 it being shorted.Ie somebody knew the stock would go down.Similiar but not as great activity in AMR stock.
On the 3rd of March 2014 the stock of Malaysian airlines began to experience strong selling pressure.
Bizarrely, almost one in ten Americans also think “space aliens” we are involved in the disappearance.
The survey found that nine per cent of the respondents believe “space aliens or beings from another dimension were involved”.
