MH - Malaysia Airlines Lounge - Kuala Lumpur - KUL

I found the F lounge at KLIA rather tedious too had to ask every time I wanted to top up my red.
In a country where alcohol is not the norm that makes you feel like a naughty schoolboy.
At least in the business lounge they let you help yourself.....

Never had a problem with that in the F lounge. They kept asking me if I wanted a top-up of my drink (champagne). Had to eventually say no or else I would've been too pissed to get on my flight!

Possibly flying through KLIA on MH in discount Y (unless I decide to pay more :)). As OW emerald, I presume I can access a lounge - any advice would be very welcome.

Yes, you can even access the First Class lounge.

Thanks for the information. I am considering flying back from HongKong - the cruise has a cheap MH fare through KUL as part of a package but I am also looking at other options - can do an ASA on QF but it is only $A300 cheaper (with co-payment based on my sad present balance) than just buying a Y+ one way fare.

How about Jetstar via SIN and MEL and then QF to CBR?

I will be flying in 2 wks' time on MH (in J) from PER to India. Will I be using the international lounge or just the regional one?

It will depend on your destination and what plane you'll be on. If it's an A333, it'll most likely be at the satellite terminal. If it's a B738, it will most likely be from the main terminal where the regional lounge is based.

That would depend on the schedules of the day.

You can use any lounge. If you have time to spare it should only be ~10 minutes to transfer between main terminal and sattelite terminal. The lounge in sattelite terminal is much better although I am not too impressed with the First lounge in the sattelite terminal. Better choice of food in Business lounge and better atmosphere.

And FWIW my BKK-KUL flights usually arrive in Sattelite terminal and KUL-SIN flights usually depart from Main terminal. Both are 737's.

Thanks for the suggestion - am a bit wary of Jetstar (actually have never flown them) but will have to decide what to do (if I want to book an ASA will need to do it sooner rather than later) but not going till 2014 so if decide to pay cash no hurry yet.

A bit confused. Thought all lounges are now in satellite terminal. Wrong?

According to MH reservations - after a long consultation with a colleague - confirmed that subject to space, oneworld emeralds are eligible for the Platinum Suites.

Well they better tell the gate keeper then:shock:

I'll let you know in about an hour when I give it a try.

While you are there will you please shoot those annoying chimes which continually sound throughout the terminal :)

Consider it done.

Ps hey, no-one told me that you could check in at KLIA Express at Sentral. More lounge time at the other end :)

I do it all the time, if travelling MH (not available for SQ flights). Must check in by T-2hrs tho.; I have checked in T-8 hrs, wandered around town, then caught the train to KLIA

Absolutely no problem accessing the MH 'Platinum Suite' / Retreat at KLIA Satellite with a MH J, 1W Emerald BP.

Directed to the First Class area ( which includes the PS/R), I asked about the latter, just to be sure. No problem. Walked in, nobody about, but soon appeared and I'm about to have a nice sit down lunch off the menu.

It's a nice, quiet area, haven't been out to the First Lounge yet, but so far, so good.

Subsequently went out to the general First Lounge at Satellite. OK, but needs a refresh.

Then went back to Main Terminal Golden Lounge to wait for flight departure and I agree with others that this is probably the best of the lot (except for a la carte meal in Platinum Suite). Light, open, spacious, with a good food and drink selection (except wines).

Well they better tell the gate keeper then:shock:
Does it matter if they show you the way to the Business lounge? I posted earlier how you can go from the business lounge to the first lounge. ;)
