Flying PER-LHR in a couple of weeks on MH124 and MH2 in Y. Can anybody confirm:

- which lounge I will be able to access with my QF SG

- how the treatments in the spa work - having looked online I can see that they can be booked, but only at set times (e.g. 10pm, 11pm - neither of which is ideal given MH124 lands at 10:05pm and MH2 departs 11:40pm). Am keen to treat the missus to a treatment given we are flying long haul for the first time with our 2 year old!

- whethere MH do anything akin to a cheap on departure upgrade (first time flying International with them and budget wouldn't stretch to 3 J seats at the time I booked).

Any help appreciated.

As QF SG, you will have access to the business class lounge at KLIA (Satellite terminal), which is to your left when you enter. I've never used the spa treatments in the lounge there but it is a user-pay system.
MH don't really do on-departure upgrades but I have heard that they do occur but only at certain airports. I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen at KUL or LHR. If you had booked upgradeable Y fares, why not try to upgrade to J. The points cost is pretty good and there isn't a lottery system like there is with QFF.

Only in the F cabin of the A380. Babies are allowed on all J cabins of MH aircraft. Bassinet positions are at the bulkheads obviously.

It's F and not J.

To the comments about no Bubs, you are playing with fire making generalized comments like that. Each traveller has the potential to be an annoyance and not just bubs...

Thank you for the (mostly) helpful responses.

One final question - I had previously thought that SG provided additional baggage with OW airlines, but cannot seem to find this on the QF website any more.

Can anyone confirm how much (if any) additional baggage I will be eligble for?

Thanks again.

Extra Baggage allowance is often seen as a OW benefit when its not, MH increased its Y baggage to 30Kg just after joining.

In this case it is not relevant as the OP is SG - however, additional luggage is a benefit for oneworld Emerald.

I'm flying on MH2710 KUL-SDK from the main KLIA terminal next month.

As this is a domestic flight is the domestic Golden Lounge my only option?

There are signs at the entrance to the MH lounges in KUL inviting you to request an upgrade and giving you the price range for various destination regions.

And the prices didn't seem that bad. There was no info on if the fare had to be full Y or not, though.

That's new then. Must look out for it next time I'm going through KUL.

Last month we upgraded our KUL-MLE flight at the lounge.
Cost was AU$165 each. but only booked in I class so no J status credits.
The sates for dinner were delicious ;).

Are you flying in Y or J? If you're in J and your transit is over 6 hours, you should qualify for a free stay at the Sama-Sama Hotel (previously the Parkroyal). That would be a much better option than the lounge. If you're in Y, then you can go to the First class side as a WP and book one of their slumber rooms. If you're just SG, then you can only go to the Business class side unfortunately.

Hey MH_Fan do you know if this free stay at the Sama-Sama still applies and what the rules are for it?
I can't find any mention of it on the MH website.
I'm booked to fly HKT-KUL then have 12 hours in transit before flying KUL-HKG. Same PNR.

Sama-Sama certainly weren't offered to me on my SYD-KUL-HAN transit (both booked Y but upgraded to J 48hrs in advance)

Did manage to get the last of the four (so not many) slumber rooms.

Still a bit of light from the hallway and the TV blasting a 24hr news channel from the lounge wasn't great.

Still a helluva lot better than a couch for five or so hrs

It's dependent on the fare rules and it must also be a forced long transit (over 4 hours from memory). Generally sale fares (N/O/Q classes) are not eligible.
