If anybody is getting to OOL at this time happy to share a ride.

For whatever reason I have completely missed this thread (or possibly because I didn't want to post till I knew what we're doing that weekend!) Hope it's not too late to jump in? Myself and +1 can confirm our attendance and would love to join in if at all possible!

Will be attending both drinks and dinner.

Will try to book the Hilton for convenience's sake unless there's a vast difference in price with something else. Staying a night rather than driving home so we can both inbibe to our hearts' content!

No HH status alas.

OK - Sorry to do this but a slight menu change / enhancement

Err, word of warning there. Translink (or more accurately, Surfside) is about as reliable as the Titanic for arriving at it's prearranged destination on time. My kids regularly have to find alternate arrangements when the bus simply fails to turn up or keeps driving straight past them. Even after the Daniel Morcombe lessons. Numerous complaints have done nothing to curb the totally random nature of this so-called time-tabled public transport disaster (the stop before ours is a time clock stop and still they ignore it). Choose public transport on the GC at your own peril (and I advise you not bank on getting your Luke Mangan gastronomic delights..........OOL is a long way to hitch to Surfers).

My experience with the 702 bus to and from OOL has been excellent. I catch it at least once every six weeks or so. At least now it actually goes into the Airport and not deprosit you on the side of the highway, leaving you to schlep down the road to the terminal!

My Hilton info was emailed a few weeks back. Know you've been busy & maybe not time to update the list on page 1.

The menu looks great! There are a few things there that have caught my eye!

I'm arriving at BNE - 12:10pm on Sat, and departing BNE - 7:55pm on Sun.

Would love to tie in with someone / others for transfers if possible.

Flight up booked. I land 12:30 on Sat. DJ935. If you're happy to wait the 20 mins then we can organise something for transfers.

I was going to fly Qantas, but couldn't resist 6,900 points + $39 for DJ Business (especially as I thought they'd stopped doing those cheap flights) :D

Flight back isn't booked yet.

Sounds great to me :)

I considered DJ as well - but there is nothing except extortionate pricing ex-cns. (Actualy ex-anywhere according to my recent searches). But that's another rant for somewhere else - in the meantime QF is winning lots more business from me.

QF was the opposite for me.

~$200-ish for SYD-BNE on Saturday, unless I wanted to fly before 8am (which I don't) :)

Rates are reasonable coming back though.

munitalP, can this be true?

AFF re-establishing the true meaning of the term enhancement??

I really must tip my hat to you. That menu almost looks unbelievable. The choices are incredible for a so called "set menu".........and a well priced wine list........and a slight discount over the original proposal............and the potentially problematic remittance saga resolved.........WOW. I congratualte your organisational skill.

Now, what shall I order????????

Ooooooo, you tease!

I find it a bit of fun chasing up on sponsors and getting good deals from hotels etc. The effort is rewarded on the night with people just being happy and usually without costing too much either! Previous events organised in Melbourne have been organised around peoples loyalty cards or good local knowledge and at the end of the day, we are all in it to have a bit of fun, enjoy some good food and hopefully some good plonk - I hop this Mid Year Xmas do will be equally as successful as Decembers. I'm also quite happy I don't have to get up at 4am the next morning for a flight!! (Oz-Mark - I'm looking at you!)

The emphasis is about fun and ensuring that the night is organised to the final call makes for a good evening all round.

The next announcement hopefully tomorrow will blow everyones socks off....
