I think he’s on the mark to be honest. We prefer the restaurant downstairs. But it’s nothing like what EK provides. Maybe the F lounge is better?I sent Mr FM upstairs to explore. He said there was a buffet similar to downstairs plus two hot dishes - he thought they looked a bit Qantas slop like, but they might have been OK. I might have a look myself on the way back![]()
I have heard the F lounge is very good and that the J lounge used to be better. It really gave us all we needed though. Given everyone in the lounge is flying J (different lounge for Y passengers with status), how much food do you really need. There is more than enough there if you arrive hungry or like me hadn’t had much before getting off the plane. I guess some people like to eat in the lounge and then not eat on the plane but it still seemed enough. Nice little cakes as well.I think he’s on the mark to be honest. Duty free is like one open set of shelves, not a lot there!I didn't expect there to be duty free in Canberra. 30 pax boarding is about what I expected. Good to know there was some lounge time in SYD too.
I think you are right, two separate beds. Do you think there is an advantage in it becoming a double, other than obviously sleeping side by side.I’m not sure that the forward facing Q suites turn into a double bed? We peeked over the top and they seemed to be different.
I think you get the feeling of more space, because you have this double area. We are used to a king sized bed and I felt like we had similar space, although we didn’t really.I think you are right, two separate beds. they are different and definitely the beds are further apart. Basically the seats are nearer to the sliding doors and the storage bins are between the seat and the dividers. The consoles are in front of you and closer to the divider rather than to the side and next to the door. Both of those puts a bit of a barrier between you and the other passenger, which is good if not travelling with them but also takes away the illusion of space. Both types of suites actually have the same space, but being able to take down the divider and getting this nice empty bit in the middle is great.I’m not sure that the forward facing Q suites turn into a double bed?
