My Imminent Departure BBQ

AFF has been an interesting ride for me. I’ve made many a friend on here and enjoyed coming out of my shell and experiencing some sort of social life, with a lot of alcohol thrown in for good measure. However the ride has come to it’s inevitable end, at least for the time being.

From the end of November my account shall go quiet and I shall post no more, for the foreseeable future. This isn’t like other departures of late, I’ve found no member here to have pushed me away, and it’s certainly not any of you. But my time has come.

I shall be holding a BBQ to say goodbye, reminisce, enjoy some drinks and what not. You know the drill.

I appreciate 3 weeks notice isn’t a lot of time, but for anyone that wants to visit the Gold Coast, cook some meat (eat it too), swim in a pool I seldom clean (so your hair might go white) and drink some oooold reds: this is your day. I might manage to pull a bottle of Champagne out of a hat too.

Saturday 12th November, perhaps mid-afternoon to the evening. Hotel located close by, but I also have spare beds and lush carpeted floors that are apparently as comfortable to sleep on as a mattress (though not as comfortable as the floor of the MEL HSW).

I'd love to attend, for a reason in which I can't recall, I've got "Expect to be called out to work" on November 12th. If I'm on the Gold Coast, I'd love to come. Any coincidence by chance this is also the day the Commonwealth Games host for 2018 is announced?

It'll be sad to see you go Samh004, I enjoyed having you here. I hope we will continue to run into each other every now and then outside of AFF.

That HSW floor was helped mainly through a doubled-up thick doona and soft pillows.

Sorry to hear that Sam.But everything changes.I certainly miss some of my old sparring partners but kept at it and now find it easy to take the bait from Medhead or have a little dig at TonyHancock.

I will probably not be able to attend as I will be on the way to Europe via Hong Kong, the flight doesn't leave until the evening so their is a very remote possibility I could be there, like find a driver head down the coast for dinner then head to the airport, I guess anything is possible. :idea:

Although I am flying Qantas and last year the night flight was combined with another flight and the departure to a day flight.

I am sure we will catch up before hand, like in Brisbane.
