Last week I flew Air Pacific in J class Brisbane-Nadi-Auckland, mostly for an extra 80 SC's and to see how their service is doing these days. So I thought I'd let you all know what I thought about it.
Brisbane-Nadi FJ920 22:40-05:15+1 B737-800 (old interior)
Boarding didn't commence until departure time but there were no further delays.
I wasn't expecting much foodwise, but a menu was handed out and there were three main course options. Everyone received their choice because the cabin was only half full 4/8 J seats.
I found the seats very comfortable to sleep in, as I am 6"5'.
On arrival, the line for transiting passengers was too long, and I waiting a good half hour as the LAX flight had just got in before us.
The Tabua Club was not as bad as I expected. There was only toast and freshly cut fruit. But the wifi had amazing speed so I forgot about the lack of food.
I also noticed there were lots of passenger getting rejected entry at the door. It would seem unless you are flying Tabua Class or are a Tabua Club member, and your name is on their list, you won't get in with even a Qantas Gold or Plat card...
Nadi-Auckland FJ411 08:45-11:50 (same aircraft)
After takeoff, a very rushed breakfast service began. It seemed as soon as you finished one thing they'd quickly replace that plate with something new.. I wasn't expecting much once I got my fruit salad; I thought that'd be it. But then came the best looking scrambled eggs, mushrooms and sausgages I've ever seen on any J class flight! And there were chocolate pancakes also. Yummmmm!
All through the flight there seemed to be lots of Y class passengers trying to use the J class toilets, and the cabin crew put up quite an argument, it got quite loud at times. There was announcement after takeoff but that didn't seem to change much.
We arrived at the gate 10 minutes early and I was at airport curb-side within 15 mintues, very impressed!
