My wife's posted in a couple of weeks, mine took nearly four. Cancelled during the second month prior to the annual fee appearing, which was handy. 80,000 points for nix was nice :)

Thanks danwell.
Are you saying that they level next year's fee after the 2nd month?

That was my experience, but obviously yours may vary. Both our accounts were cancelled during the second month (purely out of laziness as both lots of points had been credited directly to our QFF accounts). They don't seem to sit on the card account waiting for a monthly sweep like the ANZ points do, and what I noticed was that the points were swept to my QFF account without any kind of "cycle" being completed. They just appeared there without any indication from NAB that they were on their way. I'd recommend making your token spend and paying off the balance of the card so as soon the points appear you can canx without any delays.

40K pts posted now to cancel and offer up the 'sob' story and seek fee refund as a result of QF changing their pts rdpt structure so now this card of little value to me - will report back on success.

'seek fee refund'

You paid a fee for this card?

It was fee free for the first 12 months under the original offer.

The first year fee free was for the 20K pts offer - the 40K pts offer has annual fee $250 which I have paid but which NAB have a history of kindly refunding - as I said will report back on success.

Looks like an easy one.
BTW what do people use QFF points for, can you use it to book oneworld tickets?

Please do - I'm thinking of getting this when I get back in Jan.

As per danwell's posts above - how soon after joining was the annual fee "charged" to the account?

Almost immediately - rcvd card on 03/12/2014 - spent $100 that day - $250 ann fee appeared 05/12/2014 - transferred total $350 on 08/12/2014 - will wait until I receive next Stmt then cancel.

I have not received points yet though only been 2 weeks since transaction. I spent $19, is this likely to be enough?

Has anyone received their first statement in the mail yet?

I made my first purchase around the middle of last month but haven't received a statement yet.

Rang today to see why I hadn't received a statement (despite already receiving my 20,000 pts). As a security measure, because I could not identify a transaction made within the last month they refused to answer any of my questions about my account including why they had failed to issue a statement. As a result I told them I wanted to cancel my account. Again they refused to accept this as I couldn't identify a previous transaction. Finally got onto a supervisor and have been issued a statement. Then cancelled my account. My wife was with me and I got her to cancel her account as well. Have had nothing but pathetic service from NAB. Not worth the 20,000 points at all.

Did you have two shots at this card? Or this was the first go?

Neither my wife nor I were charged fees for the platinum card, which is a very stark contrast to your 2 days!

My points came through yesterday. Now, how to let them down gently?
Just be 100% truthful with them - 'Look I really wanted to build my bank of QFF pts - but QF redemptions getting harder and harder to get - I think I will look around for another FF program with easier redemptions - I will probably come back and have a look at NAB Card offerings then - but right now I just want to cancel these cards and then get on with some serious research!'

See - 100% TRUTH.

LOL. More front than.....at that point they will say to me "Say, do you know Mr Cruiser Elite?" ;)

20,000 points lobbed into my account New Year's Day. :)

Another successful AFF harvest - thanks to the OP for the heads up on this one.

How do I supply nab with my QFF number? And will the 40k points occur straight after any amount of purchase?

For those who have received their bonus points (either 20,000 or 40,000), did it take the full two months from qualifying purchase to receive the points?
