For those who have received their bonus points (either 20,000 or 40,000), did it take the full two months from qualifying purchase to receive the points?
More like 2 weeks

Edit: Spent $100 through my own company on Dec 03 - Dec 17 pts posted to QFF acc. And NAB haver agreed to refund ann fee so at end of process 40K QFF pts have cost me $0.65

I applied 30/12, conditionally approved pending confirmed ID (utility bill and phone number), got a letter yesterday saying I'm sorry, but we haven't approved your application... This decision was based on a number of factors and didn't rest on any one piece of information.

I'll have to give them a call on Monday to see what's going on as I've only applied for min. credit limit ($500) and seeing that I earn >$120k pa and only have ~$5k credit limit at the moment this seems odd.

I have recently been approved for ANZ (Oct) and AMEX (Dec) but I'd imagine in my circumstances they'd approve me in no time flat.

Question - how do they know which QFF number to use? Where do I assign my QFF number to the NAB card

If you are already a QFF member, then you put your number during the application process. If you didn't do that, call them up and ask them to add it to your profile.

I applied and emailed docs before Xmas, got the "conditionally approved" & have heard nothing since.

Almost immediately - rcvd card on 03/12/2014 - spent $100 that day - $250 ann fee appeared 05/12/2014 - transferred total $350 on 08/12/2014 - will wait until I receive next Stmt then cancel.

I think I'm going to try this, haven't ever tried getting the Annual Fee refunded, but I've been using the churn and burn method for 2 years now.

I'll try it slightly differently though. Normally when the free 1st year cards are coming up to the one year anniversary, I clear the balance and cancel when the fee appears, they just write it off and cancel. I'm wondering if NAB will be as obliging. ie. Pay purchases balance, call straight away or when statement is issued, ask to cancel, just write off the fee without having to discuss with them.

Rang to enquire about my application (put in last week), they said that it was approved yesterday (they rang work yesterday to verify details). Should be getting the card next week. This was for the basic 20k one.

Well done. I am thinking to get the 20K NAB and also the ANZ 50K. Can I apply back to back or should I wait a few weeks before applying for the 2nd card?

No doubt about it, when you blokes get hooked you go all in. ;)

There is no real answer to that, banks apply their own criteria to credit risk assessment, the Vedascore is a factor for some but others may outright reject 2 applications in a month! Unfortunately they also don't like people knowing their methodology so you'll never really know why they rejected you.

I had an interesting experience when I recently applied for the NAB card (the one with the 60k offer, though, not 20k) that I've outlined here.

Bottom line: it may well pay to not indicate you are a QFF during the application process. And there's certainly no harm in doing that.

Not quite sure what you mean by that, its certainly not a question I've ever been asked. I assume you mean don't tell them you are a churn and burn type? If so yes, would never disclose I was only after the signup points!

Thanks NAB - 40K QFF pts for total cost $0.65 after refund $250 ann fee.

No idea why word SALARY appears but who cares. Next please!

Early on in these applications for cards that come with points there's a question asking whether or not you're an existing QFF. If you are you indicate your FF number.

No, I don't mean actually telling a bank staffer that you're churning and burning.

How did you get the fee waived?

Personally I think the sign on bonus being in QFF points is an attempt to attract QFF members so they won't be biased against them.

Hi All, just a newbie to this game after some advice.

My application was declined and then when it was manually reviewed they confirmed that they wouldn't extend credit. I imagine it's because I've applied for the ANZ, St George and Amex offers over the previous 4 or so months and my credit rating took a bit of a hit. Is there anything in particular I should say when I call them to try and push it through? My income is >$120k and I've only asked for $500 credit limit.

Statement arrived today showing $65 annual fee for the basic card & no bonus points.
