Having commented just a few hours ago on the speed of our connection, I was surprised to see that it had dropped to roughly 100/40. That is one of the tiers, so I wondered if I'd somehow been dropped to that. Rang up Aussie, and got a patient service person who checked a few things, and gave me some suggestions. Pretty much off the bat though, we worked out that the connection was still at 1 gig, and my tier hadn't changed. Tried connecting a computer directly to the NBN box, and it gave the correct 1000/50 answer...or close enough, anyway. As I'm not using any of their gear downstream that was the end of the help they could give, but it had given me enough information to point at my gateway device. I couldn't see any changes on its log, nor could I see any obvious setting issues, but I could see a connection speed change had happened at about 3am. Rebooting didn't help. But, in the end, I changed one setting, saved it, then put it back to the original setting, saved again, and suddenly, problem fixed. I'm left with no idea of what actually caused the issue, but I've ordered a updated device (Unifi UXG-Lite) as a replacement.
