New Amex statement credits

I didn't get the VM offer on any of my AMEXs, I have two no annual fee cards, the Discovery and the Essential cards.

I also didn't get it on my NAB Premium AMEX which I spend heavily on. I got the Ayers rock offer on all cards.

They obviously aren't using the big data they have on me properly. I spend a lot money on wine not geological vacations.

...or they ARE using their data and know you will buy wine regardless, so try to tempt extra spend on something else.

I get a LOT of fashion offers but have bought my suits at the same place for years, and they don't take Amex!

25% off Boccaccio Cellars and Mountain Designs may be of interest to me
Need to search my records but there is a way to use multiple cards for Boccaccio, from memory create an invoice and then pay $80 at a time across multiple cards.

Four targeted offeres received this morning via email to QF Ultimate primary card:

- Harvey Norman Spend $300 Credit $50
- AAMI Spend $400 Credit $120
- Powershop Spend $100 Credit $30
- Wolworths Online Spend $100 Credit $30

All were 'targeted' and could not be registered on other cards or this account's supplementary card. Check your emails to see if you got an invited!

Never get an email with such offers. What am I doing wrong?

Let me clarify just in case - it was one email with four offers titled 'Great offers for your home'. Some of them seem to be repeats of similar offers for last year and it's a very new account, so maybe they had an agreement with HN etc to repeat the offer to new cardmembers when they come on board.

Sorry. What I meant was that I don't get emails about offers unless I check this via Amex Offer/ Connect or get to know it here.

Sure - just wanted to make sure you didn't feel like you missed out on four in one day. That would be almost as sad as the four coles mastercard offers I consistently miss out on... :(

It says it's an instore offer only.

Whether or not the AmEx system will know the difference is another matter, and one that will be tested here I'm sure.

Got none of these on any of my cards.

Said the same last year I believe. No problem buying online then.

I received the same 4 offers in January after taking out a new Amex Essential card (my first Amex-issued card). I already have a CBA-issued Amex but never receive Amex Connect emails regarding available offers on that - the first I know of new offers on that card is when they're posted here or on OzBargain.

Ditto. I wonder what gives? That AAMI one would be quite useful.

Ditto squared, as my AAMI car insurance is due next week.

Also, is everybody else getting Vinomofo ads on AFF (to go along with the constant Amex ads)? Google must monitor this thread.

No..they track your usage/searches etc and select ads that you see based on this. For ads placed by Google we will all see different ads.

Marketers tend to try and alter spending behaviour, rather than to reward it. ie You are most likely less likely get an AAMI offer as you are already an AAMI customer.

Interesting that I get different ads on AFF depending on if I am logged in or not (they change to ads for QF but I am still using the same tablet, browser and connection) and when I log back in again, the original ads for Amex etc come back.
