We have a house full of fur kids and regularly shop at Best Friend Pets anyway, so that one was a no-brainer for me. I bought five Amex cards worth of BFP gift cards earlier this week, then used them later in the week when they ran one of their semi-regular 20% off store-wide promos. :)

My only regret is not having registered the other four Amex cards in the family. :-|

In case anyone was wondering, got cashback for $40 opal purchase at BP.

Despite my initial whinge

The Amex experience for this one is amazing

For those buying gift cards. My one only had $25 $100 gift cards and the guy said it would take about 15 mins to process the card.

I was hoping for a 40 or a 50 card

How are you guys taking advantage of this offer?

Slightly better than me.

I purchased $40.02 fuel. Moved car from petrol pump to car parking location. Went back in and purchased $40 Opal top up.

Anyone find BP gift cards yet.

I've visited 15 BP's. Some told me that they never stocked they. Some said they used to stock them and another one said that they don't exist anymore.

Last BP offer, cashier told me head office told them not to sell GC's to people paying with AMEX. He kept the BP GC's in his draw.

Mine registered on 22FEB and cashback on 23FEB.

Just been knocked back told cash or saving only for BP gift card...... Told me to ring customer care line!

Had to walk 4kms, night manager had to ring manager, got approved for my 2! Had to ask for receipt! Told not to swipe velocity.

Bought 2x $40 Opal top up at BP (only one of a few in the particular area that do it). Store was empty. Asked for one $40 top up. Got the receipt, then mentioned that "I thought I had more on it, can I add another $40?". Went through a second time with no problem. Emails received. It does take time for it to update online, but the Opal receipt clearly states the previous balance, top up amount and the new balance.
Not sure what the big issue about it not instantly updating would be..

The issue is at other stores it updates instantly. When BP doesn't a natural and immediate reaction is that the top up has failed.

Oh. As long as you have your Opal receipt, you're probably OK.

It should show up instantly if you very your Opal card at one of those Opal balance check machines at train stations (so obviously it can be used immediately for a train / bus / ferry ride) but it can take 24 hours before it shows up online IMHO

I received on one Edge and one Charge only. Wont use so didnt see if I could engineer the others

For anyone whose BP refuse to sell bp giftcard ( using amex offer ), another way to do it : get opal recharge $240 ( use 3 amexs card, twice ) and lodge refund for opal refund ( reason card no longer required ) :) Yes this works. Previous BP offer I done it twice ( $480 for two cards, took about 4 weeks refund from OPAL ). Why I did it ? coz i got 18 amexes, no way I can use all cards for petrol :(

Since this BP offer ends long time there is no rush to get them done.

I dont bother with BP now I have a lot of Coles and Caltex cards so I will use and get petrol there, BP seems expensiver usually.

Good thing about BP is the opal top up so I can get 25% off opal for life... Simple thing just get like 10 opal cards for each amex. The person might be like wtf.. but yeah..I just have 4 and judgle them around.

They are more than happy to give you a new OPAL with $40 on it as well, payment via amex no problems. No swip/tap n pay though, must insert and enter pin.

The BP at Lane Cove has heaps of $25 $50 and $100 and $200 gift cards if anyone in Sydney wants to go the GC route.
