New Amex statement credits

Such as the 2016 one weekend-only offer. It was May 2016.
Trying to decide whether to cancel a card to prep for the next sign on bonus, or to retain as I feel like a shop small is coming....

What a poor first half of the year with promotions. Hoping something better comes along second half of the year?

I've decided to get a supp card for my explorer and ditch the wifes. In 18 months take out a new card for her +supp for me and ditch mine.

Hmm what's the deal with vpay cards.
I seem to have one that looks like the balance is not coming up.
I emailed the company on how to check as when I log in there is only one card coming up and they tell me I need a new email address for every card?

Surely this isn't right?

yeh it's right. it's a rubbish system. i just register them all under the same email and get the card number at confirmation, and cvc/exp date via email. and then spend straight away. only one card will ever show up on login tho.

That's terrible.... I used the same email address for them too. Definitely a buy and use ASAP card for future reference

Thanks for letting me know

It is absolutely correct and very well documented on AFF.

If you have a gmail account, you can create multiple aliases e.g. [email protected] can become 9 email addresses by moving the dot one letter at a time and they will all deliver to the same address. This is what I did last time I used the HN VPay offer at the end of last year.

You can do that or use the + sign trick

I've just starting prepping some $500 HN Visa GC's I bought during the recent promotion. I have checked a few cards and they have transactions on them - my balance is less than my $500 load - have been used with US retailers. This post is a warning to others but I'm also looking to confirm who I need to report this to as the "mygift2u" site doesn't have any contact details.

Any pointers appreciated. I've bought a substantial number of these cards so need to check them all and report this asap.

if you click the check balance tab ... you will get to the page where it lists the t&c of the visa giftcard in the bottom of the page https://sam.emerchants.com.au/File/Retrieve/186. Details of how to contact them if you suspect fraud are in the t&c's

7. You are responsible for all transactions on the Card, except where there has been fraud or negligence byour staff or agents. If you notice any error relating to the Card, you should notify EPSL Client Servicesimmediately on 1300 513 378 during business hours or alternatively you can send an email to [email protected].

First time I have actually seen this done electronically in the "Offers" section, normally I get a letter:

9.99% p.a. for 6 monthsLOW RATE FOR 6 MONTHS

Once enrolled, you can take advantage of this great rate for your new purchases including holiday season shopping, larger purchases you’ve been thinking of or simply your everyday essentials. It’s just another way we can thank you for your loyalty.
Please read the Offer TermsShow the Terms for this LOW RATE FOR 6 MONTHS offer

OFFER TERMS
• Subject to these Terms and Conditions and the American Express Credit Card Conditions, you are eligible for a promotional low interest rate of 9.99% p.a. for all new purchases charged to your Account for a period of 6 months from the date of successful enrolment (the 'Offer'). Enrolment is only available to this Card Account and any attached Supplementary Cards until the expiry date noted above.
• There will be no change to the interest rate on any existing Account balance at the time of your enrolment in this Offer. Any remaining balance on your account after the 6 month period will attract the standard interest applicable to purchases on your Card at that time.
• Cash advances, balance transfers, charges for travellers cheques, fees and commissions are not purchases and do not qualify for the promotional low interest rate in this Offer. Credits and refunds to your Account will not be treated as payments made by you, and may be credited against balances with a lower interest rate first.
• By choosing to pay your eligible purchases over time, interest will accrue on all other unpaid balances until the total balance is paid in full. Interest on these amounts may be higher than the promotional rate. If you entered into your Card agreement with American Express before 1 July 2012, we may apply your payments to amounts with the lowest interest rate first.
• Please ensure to click ‘Enrol now’ button to enrol in this promotion. Upon successful enrolment the button will disappear and will state ‘Offer enrolled.’ Please also note that if you enrol on a Saturday, the promotional rate offer will commence the next day (i.e. Sunday). Thanks for the heads up inipenam - much appreciated. I'm going to check through all of my supply tonight. May end up pre-emptively making some early payments tonight to drain the balance of the remaining value to mitigate any further loss.

Has anyone in this thread previously had dealings with these guys in relation to getting money back after fraud? I can envisage this potentially taking door time to resolve. As much as I like to generate "cheap" points, this is a lesson to me - particularly in relation to the value of my time.

It's much more expensive, but I'll be using RewardPay from now on.

I would suggest changing your email password too, or the password to aanywhere you store the data. Vpay card numbers seem relatively randomly generated so I would guess it unlikely that multiple of your cards get hacked.
