Got the Clinique, Hyatt and Samsung offers but only loaded the Clinique for Mrs QF WP.
They've gotten back to me requesting receipts for the gift card purchases.
I've sent a screenshot showing the two purchases at the different Westfield merchants.
Credits have been manually applied for Westpac and CBA. Now I need to chase the actual Amex cards.
Annoyingly, the contact link via Amex connect won't work for American Express issued cards (they direct you to secure messages - which no longer exists) and it seems the online chat function isn't working atm. I'll try to call them when I have a quiet moment tonight.

B I just bought the red Westfield cards as last time they were accepted everywhere eftpos was accepted.
Really can the red cards be used for eftpos anwhere like the gold xs? without fail? you learn something new everyday!

I used it last week but most times it appears to be offline.
For anything beyond something very simple, they're absolutely useless (and quite aggressive at times).
I figured they could handle this, though, while I was working on something else. Doesn't seem to be online today.

I can understand them not splitting bills according to what individuals have eaten - that would be a pain for them and sometimes I think they get that confused with simply dividing the bill by the total number of diners.Agreed.
It's probably because it's too difficult for some of the staff. The standard of basic arithmetic these days is appalling based on our experience. Having said that, we do allow split bills because our customers are extremely important to us and our Square POS calculates the amounts.
Re AMEX, we've been accepting AMEX (no surcharges) a couple of years and they recently reduced their fee to 1.5% through our traditional eftpos terminal. Square on the other hand charge us a 1.9% flat rate for AMEX/VISA/MC. If it wasn't due to the fact that their POS was so well integrated with their card reader we'd be using the manual eftpos terminal and saving 0.4%

That's fair. IME, dividing a bill up according to consumption invariably leaves some items, normally drinks, left unpaid for. A straight division by the number of diners is very easy and there is no reason not to accommodate such a request, IMO.
I had a real issue about 6 months ago at a Greek restaurant near Sydney Airport. We were dropping some friends to the airport who were going back to the UK and stopped for dinner before hand. The manager refused to do a straight 50/50 split, and the guys didn't have any AUD left. I ended up paying, but our friends were sufficiently embarrassed. Add to that the $14 BYO charge (at a suburban restaurant), and it quickly went onto my "never again" list.
