New Amex statement credits

Until the Amex promo is over....View attachment 148029
The gift card provider has been having issues for the last few days, both woolies and Coles were also unable to process them prior to Christmas.

Can anyone confirm that they bought GCs at Luxury Escapes and received the Amex credit?

Supplementary questions;

(1). Did anyone buy Luxury Escapes GCs at HN with an Amex?
(2). If so did they receive the HN Amex credit for doing so?
Yes and yes.

I'm glad I didn't procasinate and bought the egiftcards.

I've been doing 3-4 $40 click and collect orders at a time to use up the woolies ones, I'm glad woolies has made it so easy to split the payments between egiftcard/ credit card.
Well done. I still have lots left, so probably can’t complete all my cards before end of offer.

I purchased an oven at HN just before Christmas which I spilt over three Amex without issue.

They are certainly a lot more accomodating when you are buying actual products compared to GC etc...

This makes a great deal of sense.

When I have used the HN offer, I have always bought something.
Agree,
Just seems to be human nature or harvey norman nature that when buying actual goods, they seem to be nicer, which is kind of understandable

Another new AmEx Statement Credit, from Gerry Harvey's sidekick, Domayne:

Spend $750 or more, get $150 back
[This is a saving of 20%, for those of you so inclined, of course AmEx points earn is on the pre-credit amount so extra bonus that way]

Offer Details:
Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $750 or more, in one or more transactions, online or in-store at Domayne by 31/01/2019 to receive one $150 credit. Limited to the first 20,000 Cards to save the offer. Exclusions apply.

Here's where it gets awesome:
I've taken a look at the Domayne site and it appears and feels like the Harvey Norman site. Which of course means Gift Cards.

But, but, Domayne sells only over priced furniture, you ask. Well, have I got news for you! I've spent a good few minutes differentiating and integrating and finding volumes of solids of revolutions embedded in the Gift Cards Terms and Conditions which state, and I quote:

3.2 A Gift Card may be redeemed for goods and services purchased from any Franchisee carrying on business at a Harvey Norman®, Domayne® and Joyce Mayne® complex, Harvey Norman Online®, Domayne Online® and Joyce Mayne Online®.
(emphasis mine)

TL;DR - This deal is just as good, if not even better, than the stock standard HN deals that AmEx pumps out annually. Especially with the paltry ~14% savings that were dished up in the recently-concluded Spend $350 get $50 back at HN offer. So if you missed out on using this offer (guilty as charged), don't worry, this is a better offer and is ready to get fired at.

Have fun AFF'ers. Please do report back on any findings/experiences in using this offer. It's my second offer posted (first was the NZ promo which seemed to have been helpful), so hoping that this is a success too.

Can also confirm yes to both questions. I bought a $250 GC on the HN website and went into the store to pick it up. Annoyingly, they gave me 5 x $50 GCs.

I also bought 5 x $250 HN eGCs online during that promotion (albiet in $200 and $50 denoms) so it would appear that the Russian roulette Gerry plays with HN eGCs and Amex promos continues. I don't recall seeing any issues with "cancelled orders" here or on OzB.

I also maxed out the more recent $350/50 promo just before Christmas when buying a couch, ie split the payment over 6 cards, without fuss. The guy thought it was funny and asked if it was "for frequent flyer points or something". Yeah something like that, I said. Together with the eGCs, the receipt was easily over 1 metre long and it took 20 mins to process.

From memory all of their gift cards are interchangeable. I know with previous HN offers I bought gift cards for HN and used them at Domayne to buy a mattress.

a friend who works at Domayne TP said they arent allowed to sell them and to go to Alexandria- no idea why i didnt ask him why.

Domayne seem to be more painful than HN! I actually need some overpriced furniture... however the website doesn't list prices. I spent an hour on online chat with the person taking 5 minutes to answer me each time. Managed to get RRPs for 2 of the 8 items I'm interested in. And they wonder why the online marketplace is killing them.

Had 4 cancelled orders on the last day of HN promo, but all were delivered the next day. Their systems are very unreliable to put it nicely

Indeed. It's the ultimate luck of the draw. The charades are on with the latest Domayne promo, based on OzB.

Can you still only redeem one Luxury Escapes gift card per booking?

You can use multiple gift cards for the same booking. In fact, when you redeem a gift card you get "Luxury Escapes Credits" which is just the money value of your gift card. So you can redeem all the gift cards you have, they accumulate as credits in your account, and you can later spend them all in one transaction/booking.

To do that, you can just put anything in your cart, go to the checkout page, redeem the first gift card, then refresh the checkout page, and redeem again. Repeat that as many times as you want, and all the credit will accumulate in your account. If you don't finish the purchase, you'll just have all the credits in your account, available for a future booking.

There will be a new "stand-alone" redemption process in the near future, so you won't even need to put something in your cart before redeeming the gift card. It will be easier to redeem multiple ones.

From OzB, you will be able to redeem multiple giftcards.

On another note, a $40 click & collect order had $30 of OOS items. Free $10 worth of toilet cleaning liquid :)
