Offer received also for North Shore and live on North Shore. Agree there doesn’t seem to be many useful merchants for me.

Anyone with previous experience of the Hilton statement credit offer? I have an upcoming stay in Sydney in September, past the due date of 31/07/2019. I did a price match guarantee to bring the price down to $393 for two nights in Hilton Sydney, with flexible cancellation policy until 3 days before check-in. Two questions:

1. Will Hilton Sydney agree to pre-charge my card now?
2. Being based in Melbourne, can I go to DoubleTree Hilton and spend $10-20 at one of their restaurants to get to the $400 mark to get the $80 back?

Just phone the hotel and prepay $400.00. After check-in, have a drink or proper coffees, taking the $393 to $400.00+ before check-out.

The $80 credit will come through based on the pre-pay. Just make sure to make the extra spend while you are there.

Edit: Any issues with the pre-pay, just phone during normal business hours.

Precisely what I did for an upcoming stay at the DT in ASP later this year, thanks to advice from @boomy and @QF WP. There's a $100 room credit waiting, effectively purchased for $20.....

Great to hear members taking sage advice @Happy Dude. I've got a $50 one waiting for me at DT Melbourne Flinders Street, courtesy of @boomy. Effective value is -$50 (as I only needed to spend $30 to get beyond the $400 spend on that stay).

Thanks for the advice. I will give the hotel a ring then to pre-pay $400 and be sure to spend some at the cafe/restaurant to get the total bill on the folio to over $400.
