New Amex statement credits

I didn't get an email confirmation, but the $40 credit showed up on my statement the following day.

Thanks. Shall wait for the credit! I used some points and managed to get the credit card portion including surcharge to just over $250.

I booked a $249.00 ticket with a couple of bucks' card fees, which appeared separately on my statement. I didn't get the email but the credit arrived within the usual day or two of the transactions having posted.

In the last day or two, we got "50x bonus points on streaming services" on my wife's (primary) Plat Charge.

It's for a couple of months and maxes out at 5000 points but that's still $100 spend, so if you have a few services connected you might max it out.

Easy to earn, but so hard to earn.

Added my card to Google Pay last night, woke up this morning and got an e-mail saying the card been removed from Google Pay. Called AmEx, the staff said no idea.

Wanted to pay for coffee this morning, but got to the cafe, and realised that I needed to take my Opal card off from the phone (it is too dangerous and problematic to pay with bank card for bus trips in Sydney due to problems with Opal card readers on buses), then unlock screen, and enable NFC. It is all too hard, so I gave up.

Added my card to Google Pay last night, woke up this morning and got an e-mail saying the card been removed from Google Pay. Called AmEx, the staff said no idea.

Seems like it's just bad timing. Amex is having some sort of global disruption with Google Pay at the moment. I've been using it for years and this is the first time I've seen any issue like this, normally it's flawless.

I went into Google Pay, and the card was removed, but the history of my card was still there, I just needed to type the 4 digit CVV back, type the one time code in e-mail from AmEx again, then added my card back.

Assume those who received 50 points per $ haven't used said card in Google/Apple pay?

Amex are aware of the issue, happened to both of us too.
