New Amex statement credits

I think people have gone a bit OT here!

Tenuous it might be.

However;

earn $10 shop small ==> spend @ local chemist ==> best bang for buck (how un-AFF like!) ==> buy generics instead of brand ==> be warned may not be what you expect.

Seems not to OT for a typical AFF thread....

So when someone uses the term LCC, they could be referring to a Low Cost Chemist.

To get back on topic, those Qantas $100 for $700 registrations seemed to get snapped up pretty quickly.

So did the Rebel ones. I got busy and when I went back this morning to register it was closed.

I managed to get in on the Rebel and Amart All Sports offer.

Will have to have a look at what golf bags they have in stock.

The Rebel and Amart offers end 31/12/15 so hopefully some boxing day offers. Amart sometimes also does 20% off days irregularly on Saturdays.

Mention Amart and you get a Rebel members offer. You can sign up online and they can find you on their screens instore.

Would I be spat at if I ask for the payment to be split over three cards in store? I estimate a total of about $153...

I sat at a restaurant during shop small and "tapped" 5 X $20 transactions for a $100 bill. Surprisingly enough, the waitress (who was the owner) didn't even batt an eyelid

Phew managed to sweet-talk the cashier into splitting across four cards. She asked why, and I told her Amex runs pretty good promotions and she said she would look at the Priceline offer. Amex owes me a commission! Lol

Effort plus.

I ask people, would you like to pay $50 for dinner or $100. Friggin amazing how many don't care.....
I only managed 3 at the same time/place, one situation I could have used 4 but didn't :)

Same here, sent an email off to the boss suggesting she activate it asap as she'd spotted some shoes she wanted.

Later that night at home she then went to do it and closed.

Sometimes there is a drawback to 110,000 point offers...

can this be combined with qantas 20% off cashback??

I don't know the answer for sure yet but so far have spent $700 on QF Gift vouchers and received notice of the $100 credit even before Qantas had emailed me the receipts.

Now I am waiting to see if the 20% off for 3 transactions with QF pays out as well.

So far, $700 spent, $100 Rebate and 4900 QFF points using Qantas Amex card - if the 20% rebate is also applied ($140) then the total cost for $700 worth of QF tickets to me would be $460.

I keep thinking that it sounds too good to be true, although I definitely hope that I am proven wrong.

I think this should work. In October on one of my cards I stacked a $50 QF credit with a 20% credit on 3 transactions offer. My wife needed to go to Brisvegas so I bought a one way ticket to BNE, a $100 gift voucher and then used the gift voucher to part pay the return flight to Sydney with the balance making my third transaction. Amex automatically credited both the $50 credit and the 20% offer within 48 hours.

I have actually received (overnight on my NAB AMEX account) my AUD100 rebate for purchasing a AUD1000 QF gift voucher.

I put two DJs online transactions through last night. Didn't get the emails for either of them, oddly enough.

I made online order for gift cards & a small kitchen implement a few days ago. No email but credit posted 2 days later.

I'm not usually in the habit of replying to my own posts but this is the exception as I am feelin' a bit of luv for Amex right now!

My Amex statement credits for 3 x Qantas purchases on-line came through today. :p:p

I now have $700 of QF travel on 3 gift vouchers, 3500 bonus QFF points and 1400 QFF points for using the Qantas Amex card for a total of $460 - a discount of 34% and definitely my best effort in dollar terms with Amex so far.

For reference all credits show on my statement as Qantas Airways (E) and the puchases show as Qantas Air Australia doing business as Qantas Airways (E).

Only one of my other Amex cards has both offers loaded but I will definitely be repeating this purchase before the 20% rebate expires on December 13.

The best part is that I buy vouchers only to get around QF usurious credit card surcharges - the rest is all a bonus.

Really hitting my Amex straps now - 2 x Dymocks $20 rebates credited today and a $40 DJ's rebate credited overnight.

Still have Rebel Sport to come and that should almost wrap up the Xmas shopping. :D
