Yes - been there done that many times in the past when AMEX allowed to purchase physical DM cards in-store, unfortunately it's only online recently so I think that's no longer an option...

Why bother with the physical cards when the e-cards work fine? Check posts above.

Trying to work out how my elderly parents can use e-gift cards. I can probably just manage. It would be impossible for them.

The current Dan Murphy's offer is in-store only?

You get the email that has an online code and an in-store code, the in-store code is 10 digits long and you follow the screen prompts at the checkout, eg enter code then the 4 digit pin.

The current offer is online only.

Current DM offer online only

Agree e-gift cards can be fiddly for some (particularly for the presbyopic) at the till

I think you need to be 'motivated' to use them

The fact that you get the e-cards within a couple of hours rather than several days wait for the plastic card and that the e-cards are free delivery against the plastic cards delivery charge of $5.95 is enough motivation for me.

Use them regularly myself-its the non-points-enthusiasts in the family who require motivation

That's good enough for me to use now that I know these can be used at Woolworths on shopping.

I don't drink at home so no need to buy alcohol.
 
As I've registered for the Woolworths Online offer, I tried putting through my first order today. All went well until I got to the checkout - put in the Amex card details and then "nope, we've received a decline message from your bank. Try again or contact your bank". Ok, tried putting it in again ... same message. Oh great. Rang the bank, no problem at all with the card - they can see the transaction appeared and then immediately reversed so it's not showing as a pending transaction on Netbank but has come off the balance total so will drop off during the next week. Rang Woolworths Online and they couldn't give me any reason why the transaction was rejected, only "oh, sometimes our website plays up a bit" so not much help there either. Don't know whether it's because I'm using an iMac, or whether there's some sort of "glitch" happening. Ironic thing is, I received the "thanks for spending with Woolworths Online" email from Amex within seconds of trying to put the transaction through, so it must have registered even though the bank assures me the transaction hasn't gone through (I'd better keep an eye on that, just in case) and Woolworths Online assures me the order didn't go through either. The transaction was under the spend total required for the offer anyway, as I was going to put through several smaller orders over the next couple of weeks. Don't think I can be bothered now if this is going to keep happening :(. Very frustrating.
 
I used Mrs andye's supplementary Edge on the Dan's offer by accident but despite the T&Cs it triggered the $15.:) I had already used the offer with my primary card

I used it with all 4 cards on my account and received 4 x $15 credits :)

Just make sure you register all cards separately.
 
Used the Dan's offer to buy an e-gift card which I then used to buy petrol....cant complain about that.

I'm a little naïve on DM gift vouchers so some noob questions:

If I buy a DM plastic or e-gift card using the current Amex offer I can use it at woolys supermarkets and petrol stations, Big W's - or maybe a BWS? (no DM's in Tassie yet)

Do any of the cash back sites work when buying DM gift vouchers?
