New Amex statement credits

I reckon $50 in one transaction at the butcher would get you what you paid $20 for a year ago, so hitting the spend limit isn't the problem.

Yes, just over 20 litres of petrol at our local independent station, so very similar to 20 litres when price was at 2020 levels - get $5 for those 20 litre spend. Trouble is the ratio of cashback is a minor fraction now.

:eek:

Ditto here. My impression was Shop Small was a campaign to encourage greater Amex accepotance by small retailers and to back that up with our incentivised usage. That's happened now - I don't hear quite as many gripes about acceptance. Amex has gone "mainstream" now. Why do they need to keep incentivising us to use it?

Just my 2 cents worth. YMMV.

I would have thought that was obvious.

People need an incentive to be loyal to a card. If I wasn't churning my cards, small shop (in its previous forms) could do that for me.

New offers;

Forever New - 100 / 20
Wine Direct - 150 / 35

I have had a rush of Amex credits posting over the last couple of days - Ampol, Amex Travel, etc. some of which where the spend was made 2+ weeks ago.
